M.A.N Bassist 'Slowly Recovering' - July 27, 2008
Bassist Rob of the Swedish metal band M.A.N — who was recently diagnosed with "acute pancreatitis," a complication of the gallstone surgery that he underwent earlier in the month — is still in the hospital, but is said to be "slowly recovering" from his illness. "He still having high fever and still on painkillers, but it is moving towards the good direction," the rest of the band writes in a press release.

Commented Rob in a statement: "The night between Friday and Saturday was the most painful and horrible moment of my life. I was in such great pain and agony, a thing that would not even wish my worst enemy. I almost gave up that night, but somehow i managed to get strength and go through it. I would like to thank my family and my bandmates for being here for me in this heavy moment and I would to thank all you people who wrote 'Get well' messages through the Internet, those messages has been a big part of my quick recovery."

M.A.Nis the group formed out of the ashes of Sweden's TRANSPORT LEAGUE (featuring former MNEMIC frontman Tony Jelencovich). The group's new video — for the song "My Own Sickness" — can be viewed below. The clip was shot on June 8 in Skövde, Sweden with director Martin Holtmann, who has previously worked with the Swedish aggro combo SYCONAUT. The video features the debut of Robert "Robguz" Gustafsson's 11-string guitar (which Robguz designed on his own), alongside the guitar called "Roots Bloody Roots".

"My Own Sickness", the new single from M.A.N, is available for free download at this location. The track, which features a guest appearance by Burton C. Bell of FEAR FACTORY and ACENSION OF THE WATCHERS, comes off the group's sophomore album, "Peacenemy", which was released in Europe on March 14 (April in North America) via Tief Druck Musik. The CD was recorded at Grand Recordings in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer/engineer Svein Jensen and was mastered by Göran Finnberg at Mastering Room.
