Milwaukee 'Summer Slaughter' Concert Filmed For DVD Release - July 28, 2008
This past Saturday's (July 26) Summer Slaughter tour stop at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was reportedly shot for future DVD release. According to the BLABBERMOUTH.NET registered user "Satan's Scrotal Scent", all the bands on the bill — THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, KATAKLYSM, VADER, CRYPTOPSY, THE FACELESS, DESPISED ICON, ABORTED, BORN OF OSIRIS, PSYCROPTIC, and WHITECHAPEL — "announced [from the stage] that they were filming a DVD for the tour. Cameras were all over the place (hand-helds and stationary) and you could tell each band was trying to 'up the ante.' The greatest thing about it was the fact that no security was there to break up any pits (as that happens at every show at The Rave). There were people getting pummeled and kicked left and right. Hardcore scenesters were punching and kicking with no avail. I saw at least four kids get dropped to the ground. Pretty entertaining stuff and should turn out to be a pretty good DVD."

Why were "hardcore scenesters" allowed to conduct their bullshit at a death metal show?

kinda weird to hear about hardcore dancers at a primarily death metal and death core show. it's kinda of funny...we're not used to that up here in Regina, SK. Usually when those guys start up, they're the ones getting shit kicked and levelled (we don't really like them up here), but to each his own...

didn't have any "Hardcore Pussies" and was an old-school pit. Someone got knocked down, we helped him or her back up.

Will buy the DVD because of Aborted,Vader and the Black Dahlia Murder.

But it was like being at a mall. Maybe I'm just getting older, but it seemed like everyone was about 18 and just came from Hot Topic. The show sounded like dogshit until Vader came on...I don't know if there were different sound techs for the first 7 bands or what, but everything prior to Vader was just a muddy mess of sloppy garbage.

The Cryptopsy guitarist did puke on stage, though. I'd probably puke every show if I had to play alongside their new vocalist.

Don't you fools realize half these bands had hardcore roots to begin with? Believing that punk is the enemy is just what the music industry wants you to believe -- so you keep spending money on the latest and, um, greatest. Do you like marketing or do you like rock 'n' roll? Listen to At The Gates for understanding: "Under a serpent sun/ We shall all live as one."

While I think you make a valid point, and the At The Gates reference is a nice touch, it's just not realistic for me to turn the other cheek while getting ninja-kicked in the face by some 16 year old kid.

I'm not against hardcore at all. In fact, some of my favorite albums are punk and hardcore records. I am, however, against hardcore dancing and think it ruins the concert experience. Others would agree with me I think.

Thank god for the small floor cause there were no dancers, well they tried but only to get pushed to the floor within seconds,

great pit for cryptopsy. Wall of Death and then the whole floor erupted into a circle pit of sorts except there was no empty space

gettn this dvd for sure
