TO/DIE/FOR To Play Lebanon In August - July 29, 2008
Finnish gothic metal band TO/DIE/FOR will play the Big Bang Festival in Lebanon on August 24. According to a posting on the group's MySpace page, they will be joined at the event by THE STROKES and MOONSPELL, among other acts. A TO/DIE/FOR signing session will also take place at the Virgin Megastore in Beirut.

TO/DIE/FOR recently spent time at the Sonic Image Studios in Finland recording demos for its next album.

According to the group, the upcoming CD will include a cover song from either THE LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH or from DURAN DURAN. In addition, the band has just written a new song called "Johnny the Vampire", which I said to be "a parody about a gothic boy."

In a recent interview with Metalraw.com, TO/DIE/FOR singer Jape Peratalo stated about the group's current label situation, "Our contract with Spinefarm expired and maybe there [was a] possibility to continue with them, I do not know. But we decided to start to looking for something new. Spinefarm Records is OK. But it seems like they have no interest or time for band like we are. They have too many bands to handle. That's why we felt like we are not getting enough things like promotion etc. There are some labels who are interested in us, but this time we are not gonna hurry. We need a company who is ready to work for us with huge motivation. At the moment, I am writing new songs for TO/DIE/FOR, also other guys are writing new stuff. We are gonna be alive in the future more than ever!"

TO/DIE/FOR's fifth album, "Wounds Wide Open", was released in Finland in October 2006. The follow-up to 2005's "IV", "Wounds Wide Open" was recorded by Samu Oittinen at Fantom Studios and by Jari-Jukka Nippala at Sonic Image, and was mixed at Sweden's Abyss Studios by Peter TÃĪgtgren (DIMMU BORGIR, CELTIC FROST).

Nuclear Blast last year reissued TO/DIE/FOR's "All Eternity" (2000) and "Epilogue" (2001) albums as a double-CD package. The cover art can be viewed at this location.

A crap band playing in a crap country!
What a waste of time and effort!
And what with the lebanese metal fans!!
They have this major crash of gothic and stupid stuff related!!
One word, this is 2008, and the Metal music is dead since 1989, thank to Iron Maiden and Slayer for keeping it alive somehow!
To/Die/For!!! for whom? Your mum?

Why do you consider Lebanon a crap country?
Have you ever been there?

Where are you from?

So I guess in your place you can also go for some skiing in the morning and diving with sharks in the evening...
FYI: Before you go ahead, asswip: they have water and aircon.

I think Lebanon is actually pretty cool. The people for the most part are actually quite friendly and the women are quite beautiful too. So a major fuck you to the first post, and Kudos to everyone who agrees with me.

I think metal should be spread throughout the middle east. People in the west have no idea how good they have it. It doesn't matter if you like t/d/f or not, it could be as bad as a band as System of a Down and I would still think it's cool if they played in Jordan, Syria, or any other ME country.

Cheers .

Choice between a Lords Of The New Church or Duran Duran cover? Definitely the first when the other choice is always Duran Duran.

People still listen to the Strokes? Why?

Prosector: Seeing as your first name is Yousef would you happen to be from somewhere near Lebanon or the Middle East yourself?

where are you from, man?

Forget about the dickheads who equal Muslims with terrorists.
They should go buy themselves a flight ticket to Morocco or Malaysia, judge for themselves (if they dare to get in touch with people), will consequently get rid of their brainwashing and return as changed men.

Unfortunately this won't happen as they will stick to jerking off to internet sites in their mum's basement, just like Prosector.

One world, one style of music that binds us all \m/

1st- We leb people still didn t hear the news in lebanon, are you guys sure ? lol

2- To the first poster, i'm trying to gather the will to reply to you even if i promised myself not to reply to retards. But oh well , what the heck. It is a shitty POLITICAL country indeed, but it s not a shitty country. Like the guys said, the girls are so hot, and we are very friendly people and most important thing EDUCATED. We probably have the highest ranking in the number of educated people. Rarely we come across analphabetic young people. So , EDUCATE yourself before spreading blasphemy about a country i bet you've never heard off. Anyways, you are always welcome to come the country yourself, and i m willing to bet you 1000 $ that you will enjoy every single second you spend here.

3- I happen to know a very big amount of metalhead, and I can assure you my friend, NO ONE IS INTO THE GOTHIC genre. Off course there are some fans , but not like the way you described it.
And no , metal music didn't die in 1989, music died when people like you started saying these kind of bullshit. METAL WILL NEVER DIE, METAL IS A CULTURE.

4- Looking forward to that gig, even if i m not a fan of these bands, but i will surely be there to support them !
