QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS: New Album Release Dates Announced - July 31, 2008
QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS will release their new album, "The Cosmos Rocks", in Europe on September 15 and the U.S./Canada on October 14 via EMI.

Look for the first plays of the new QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS single on UK radio next week:

* Radio 2: "Ken Bruce Show" next Monday, August 4 between 9:30 a.m. and noon. The track will then hopefully get more airs before going into playlist the following week.

* Virgin Radio: The track will be played from noon onwards that day (Monday, August 4).

You can currently log onto the album club www.queenonline.com and are invited there to check out premier track "Say It's Not True" (previously released at the end of last year by QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS as a special World Aids Day download for Nelson Mandela's 46664 HIV AIDS charity).

Video footage of QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS performing a new song, "C-lebrity", on the April 4, 2008 edition of the UK's ITV "Al Murray's Happy Hour" can be viewed below. Other tracks on the new CD will include a "first" for a QUEEN album — a cover version. The remaining tracks are all newly written by May, Taylor and Rodgers during the late 2007/early 2008 recording sessions.

QUEEN's last studio album was "Made In Heaven", released in November 1995 and containing the last recordings with Freddie. The LP became the band's biggest selling studio album, with world sales in excess of 20 million.

QUEEN's "Greatest Hits 1" album has achieved the distinction of being the UK's biggest selling album of all time, having sold a staggering 5,407,587 copies in Britain alone (source: VH1/The Official UK Charts Company. November 2006).

Paul Rodgers' voice is one of rock's platinum assets and as a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter as front man of FREE and BAD COMPANY and as a solo artist he has written, produced and recorded some of radios biggest hits.

Between them, QUEEN and Paul Rodgers have released more than 50 albums during their long careers and sold in excess of a staggering 300 million records.

You know you're getting old when a band you like is giving first radio airplay to the Ken Bruce show.

I actually find that very hard to believe. You mean it outsold albums like A Night At The Opera, News Of The World, and The Game?

...would have been a better choice for the band. Anyway, they deserve a chance to keep on rockin'.

that song kinda rocks. Even if it sounds like old Zep more than old Queen.

Roger T. on backing vocals makes it, of course!

I believe it---remember, this was released after he died, and he did the vocals over a period of a few months where he Barely was able to move at times, and forced himself to go to the studio to complete these songs. I am a HUGE Queen Fan, and believe the 20 million is in WORLDWIDE Sales, and it is a very good Album/CD (whatever) if you ask me. I'd hope most QUEEN fans would agree. ALso, saw their last tour with Paul Rodgers, and aside from having prob. the best Voice in Rock thru the years (aside from Freddie, whom most Vocalists list as the Best Ever), he did quite well on the Queen songs. Dont forget, Brian sings some of their songs as well, as does Roger Taylor. Count me in line for this CD. The 06', 07' tour was just going to be a one off thing, see what happens, with no concrete plans for anything after. They had such a great time and the fans Lined up around the world (Sold out Stadiums in Europe, Arenas in the U.S.), and their chemistry was great together, they decided to see about writing some songs. The song released late last year, "SAY IT'S NOT TRUE", is really good. If you're not a big fan of either, buy one of the lesser priced seats if they come to your area. You will truly see a ROCK SHOW by some fine musicians with great vocals.

They are NOT Queen.
I really admire Brian May and Roger Taylor, but 50% of the band ist not Queen. Especially after Freddie died. Period.

It's called "Queen + Paul Rodgers". They aren't tarnishing any legacy by doing that, the name spells out exactly what you get. It's very self explanitory, I'm not sure how they could have made it any simpler. I think the name they are touring under is entirely appropriate.

Queen was compromised of 4 talented people and when Freddie died the chemistry was gone. Having Paul Rodgers tour and singing oops I mean ruining the songs that Freddie sang is an insult. Paul sounds horrible on the old Queen tunes. I admire John Deacon for turning down the gig and respecting Freddie's memory.

Freddie is my favorite singer of all time, but frankly I'm happy that they are carrying on. If it's any consolation, Paul is was one of Freddie's favorite singers. At least the name of the band isn't "Queen". I was fortunate enough to catch them in St Paul during their last tour and I was completely blown away at how amazing they were. They weren't phoning it in for $. The passion is still there.

I wish that JD would have carried on as well since he is such a fantastic songwriter, but I can't blame the guy for wanting to retire.

That was far and away Queen's best song yet! I hope they go back an rerecord some of Queen's more classic tracks with Rodgers on vocals. That would be cool!!

I love Freddie Mercury as much as any other Queen nut on this planet. As a knowledgeable, diehard Queen fan, I am well aware that Freddie Mercury did not possess all the talent in the band. Brian, Roger, and John were all great songwriters, while the former two are quite capable singers as well. Paul Rodgers is an excellent rock vocalist. I saw them in 2005, and they were fantastic. Also, they are calling it QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS, they are not simply using the Queen name to sell records, they are using it because that is the band they are part of.

Brian and Roger have every right to carry on making music together should they choose to do so. I'm sure Freddie would have supported this album instead of Brian and Roger letting their incredible talents go to waste. They shouldn't let the fact that Freddie has passed on keep them from continuing to do something they do well, and that is make music. It's not going to be the same without Freddie, but that doesn't mean it will be bad. Personally, I am very excited about this new album and will be first in line to buy it the day of its release.

LONG LIVE QUEEN!!!!!!
