The
"Dex at Night" show on
93.3 The Planet (
WTPT) in Greenville, South Carolina recently conducted an interview with drummer
Barry Kerch of the Jacksonville, Florida-based hard rock/post-grunge band
SHINEDOWN. Watch the five-minute chat below.
SHINEDOWN will headline a stretch of late summer dates beginning on August 25 in Sparks, Nevada, as the band supports its recently released third album,
"The Sound of Madness". Joining the group on this trek will be
RED and
JET BLACK STARE.
"The Sound of Madness" debuted at No. 8 on the
Billboard album chart earlier this month with first-week sales of 50,000, the group's best numbers yet.
The Pulse of Radio asked
SHINEDOWN singer
Brent Smith how introducing the new material to audiences has gone so far. "For us, we're excited to play it, because that's what you wanna get — you wanna have whatever that emotion is when you go back and you think about when you wrote it, and how special that was when you nailed it, and then you just want to continue to do that every single night," he said. "So in all honesty, the most exciting thing about what's going on right now is playing the new material. So for us, it's awesome, and so far we've had nothing but just insane reactions for the new material."
