'It Might Get Loud' With JIMMY PAGE

The Pulse of Radio reports that a new documentary focusing on LED ZEPPELIN guitar player Jimmy Page, U2 guitarist The Edge and WHITE STRIPES axeman Jack White will premiere this September at the Toronto International Film Festival, according to Variety. The film, titled "It Might Get Loud", first screened in May at the Cannes Film Festival in France while searching for distribution. Directed by Davis Guggenheim, who won an Oscar for making the Al Gore documentary "An Inconvenient Truth", the film looks at the history of the guitar through the eyes of the three musicians profiled.
According to The Playlist film music blog, Page, White and The Edge were each picked for their contributions to guitar playing in three separate eras — Page in the '70s, The Edge in the '80s and '90s, and White in the early years of the 21st century.
The movie was shot in London, Dublin, Nashville and Los Angeles.
There's no word on when or if the film will get a theatrical release.

A big fat crazy guy that was in Led Zeppellin and nothing else successful since, a dude who's bland strumming of the same chords has for some reason made him huge, and some overrated hipster freak.
Where do I get a copy?

Jimmy Page is a "big, fat, crazy guy"? Do you know who Jimmy Page is? I think you may be mistaking him for Jack Black.

Jack Black....he and Jack White really need to get together. Add a few more colors and you could make a badass Reservoir Dogs band. I am an idiot.

Anxious to hear material from all you guys who are badmouthing Jimmy Page. I assume you can provide links to your mySpace pages where I can hear your masterpieces that rival Kashmir, Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog, Immigrant Song, Dazed and Confused, etc. Looking forward to it!

Dont forget to mention that Zep ripped off dozens of bands songs...hahaha
When was the last time Page was the least bit relevent? Yeah he can play, but there are at least 100 guys that should be honored rather than him.
And the other two are SO much a joke that naming Page doesnt even really matter...since between the two of them dont make shit for playing. "The Edge" learned to "play" while the rest of the band wrote theor music. And Jack white sounds like an epileptic drunk monkey trying to play.

Actually these guys have a lot in common. Both are blues based players who are sloppy as fuck but play with a lot of heart and creativity. I'll take sloppy guitar playing with some creativity over some Yngwie styled noodling any day (yawn).
Not into U2 but I admire the Edge for developing a very unique style of playing. He's a lot more conventional now but back in the day he really came up with a way of playing that noone else had done before. More guitar players need to start thinking outside the box.

How many rock guitar players stay relevant for 40 f@cking years. Page will smoke 99% of all the players out there even at this age.

A real deal would someone that plays more than strictly one style and does it clean with style.
There are children that would smoke any of them...if it were a blind test,as in judges not seeing who is playing. All this comes down to is pop music popularity contest, over produced and way over hyped. But hey,in another 20 years im sure people will say Kurt Cobain was a brilliant guitarist.

I'm surprised at all the negative posts regarding this anticipated documentary. I am curious as to which guitarists you would choose to represent the 70's, 80's and so forth. I grew up listening to Zeppelin and admire his style; just because he is "old" doesn't mean he is (was) not an important musician; The Edge is associated with another favorite band of mine; what's wrong with him, exactly? Jack White possesses many talents and is an obvious choice; he can play blues, rock, country, punk, etc. I would like to know which bands you admire, collectively?
