IRON MAIDEN Guitarist's Axe Stolen In Greece

IRON MAIDEN guitarist Adrian Smith's new Jackson guitar was stolen after the band's show in Athens, Greece this past Saturday night (August 2). All MAIDEN fans are being asked to be on the lookout for the guitar. It will be extremely hard to get rid of as it's the only one in the world. There will be a reward of a MAIDEN tour jacket and a handwritten letter of thanks from Adrian to anyone with information leading to the recovery of the guitar. According to RIA Novosti, IRON MAIDEN, which is scheduled to perform a gig in Moscow August 19, will fly in over 200 friends and relatives with them to the Russian capital, concert organizers said Tuesday. "Two days before the concert, August 17, one of the capital's airports will receive a charter plane, piloted by IRON MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson, that will have about 220 people on board," a spokeswoman for the Tatyana Dalskaya concert agency said.

I'd prefer to be flown to a show with a couple of buddies in the Maiden plane as a reward.

but if offering a reward, offer a real one.
last I checked, Alice Cooper offered way better, just for a sword.... what was it? oh yeah, VIP tickets(and flown in to the show), backstage, pictures with alice cooper etc...
Man, Adrian, step up the ante a little if you're going offer a reward.

Maybe there's logistics involved such as when is Maiden heading back to Greece? Two years, three years, six months... I think the letter is cool. Sure, cash is nice but once you blow it, it's gone whereas the letter is personable and it's something to hold in hand and would be a great conversation piece.

Janick's imitation of throwing away his guitar is indeed super annoying.
This guy (Adrian Smith) is trying to show that he is really gonna be grateful and really wants his guitar back ppl. you may b an insensitive fuck but if I were a famous musician I wouldnt request my fans to help me in exchange of 'cash'.
But i do think Adrian should meet the guy if someone can actually provide any info. He probably will..u know... to deliver that letter of thanks personally...

It would so easy to change the guitars look....re paint it...stickers...scar or damage the finish to the body or neck...There's nothing about it that really stands out.....just a white guitar with a humbucker and two single pick ups and a floyd Rose.....pretty standard......hope he gets his axe back....but.........

I gotta agree with the "why couldn't they have stolen Janick's?" comment. As for the reward, me personaly, I think ahandwritten letter from Adrian would be badass. Do you have a letter from one of your favorite musician saying "Hey your-name-here, thanks for the help, man!"? C'mon, that'd be fucking cool. Of course I still say that the only real reward for doing the right thing is knowing that you did the right thing, but that's me.
