AEROSMITH Singer To Write Autobiography - Aug. 5, 2008
According to Crain's New York, Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins, has won an auction to publish the autobiography of rock legend Steven Tyler.

Terms of the deal were not revealed.

Tyler is a prize catch for the HarperCollins imprint. In addition to being the driving force behind one of the music industry’s top bands for nearly 40 years, the singer and songwriter has a personal comeback story to tell, having overcome a heroin addiction.

Tyler checked into a facility in Pasadena, California, in May, prompting speculation he had slipped from sobriety, 20 years after he kicked hard drugs.

The vocalist later revealed he was in rehab on doctor's orders because of a foot injury.

Slash, Motley, Cooper, now Tyler. These books tend to have the same formula, drugs, sex, band fights, split, more drugs, rehab, getting back togehter. I'm sure if you omit the names of these rock stars in their books, they tend to have the same story.

didn't he cover most of this in Walk this way book? Which was great reading. Nearly as much debauchary as the Slash book. Anthony Keidis' was crazy too.

I'd definitely pick it up. This guy must read like the Icelandic Sagas of sex, drugs and rock n' roll.
