SHARON OSBOURNE 'Would Love' To Get AC/DC To Play Next Year's OZZFEST - Aug. 10, 2008
Sharon Osbourne told Metro of the Philadelphia rock radio station 94 WYSP in a recent interview that she would love to get AC/DC to play next year's Ozzfest. "AC/DC are my favorite band," she said. "I love them. I would love to see Ozzy and AC/DC play together."

Sharon Osbourne's entire interview with 94 WYSP is available for download as an MP3 audio file at this location.

Ozzfest, a touring event for more than a decade, this summer transformed into a "destination festival." OZZY OSBOURNE and METALLICA headlined the one-day show last night (August 9). Also appearing on the main stage were SERJ TANKIAN, KORN singer Jonathan Davis, HELLYEAH, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, SHADOWS FALL, APOCALYPTICA, IN THIS MOMENT and the "all-star tribute" to slain PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.

Last year's Ozzfest, which hit 25 cities, was a free event, with tickets handled through corporate sponsorship. The tour caused controversy by asking acts to play without getting paid, which many felt led to a weaker lineup.

One of few acts that are, but this wouldn't work. Ozzy not headlining Ozzfest?

As if other main stage acts like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden didn't headline when Ozzy inevitably couldn't play some shows in the past few years.

THAT BITCH WANTS AC/DC ON THE BILL TO UP HER PROFILE. A BAND OF THEIR CALIBRE WOULD BE STUPID IN ACCEPTING, AS THERE HAS BEEN A HUGE EXPECTATION WITH THE NEW ALBUM AND TOUR.......

AC/DC DO NOT NEED OZZFEST............

OZZY IS GONE. EVEN MOST OF HIS FANS SAY HE IS........HAVE SOME DIGNITY OZZY AND RETIRE ALREADY!!!!.....AS ONE OF YOUR REVIEWS SAID RECENTLY, YOU SOUND LIKE AN OLD MAN SHOUTING AT A KID WHO'S RIDDEN HIS BIKE ON YOUR NEW LAWN.

AC/DC are good friends with them so hopefully they will, AND YES they WOULD HEADLINE above Ozzy because they have sold MORE album than Ozzy

just like Metallica have

Judas Priest and Iron Maiden havent thats why Black Sabbath Headline over priest and maiden in 04 and 05

Metallica, AC/DC, Judas Preist, Poison, Motely Crew, Rolling Stones...and dont forget to pick up your AARP cards on your way out the door. These bands have nothing left in them just replayed old songs over and over and over. How many times can we hear the same shit. Bands like Hate Eternal and Nile run circles around these ppl.... The days of real guitar playing and drumming is over...its all about triggers and blast beats now!!!!!!!!! WHOOOHOOO LONG LIVE SUICIDE SILENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND BENEATHE THE MASSACRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AC/DC are like the 5th best selling band in RIAA history. They haven't toured for 10 years. These guys can fill the biggest arenas by themselves, pull $250K per show just to play, and they won't have to deal with any of Sharon's sound-cutting, egg-throwing bullshit.

AC/DC almost did a stadium jaunt with Ozzy and Maiden back in '83/'84, but when Flick of a Switch didn't sell like Back In Black or For Those About To Rock, they dropped the idea. The irony there is that Flick was the best album AC/DC ever did with Brian, next to Back In Black. If you don't own it you should.

Sharon is propping up her tired franchise with other bands' success, but then has the audacity to be indignant when Bill Ward wants to be paid equally to tour with Sabbath or Maiden blow a croaking Ozman off the stage in LA.

I just don't think AC/DC will ever share a bill with anyone anymore. That was correct about the Stones being the only band AC/DC would ever open for anymore.

The last concert AC/DC played was in 2003. That's... what, 5 years ago?

Oh hey Sharon, how about Zep? I'm sure Robert Plant's done tourin' with Allison Krauss by then, and I'm sure they'll roll u in more cash.

AC/DC are bigger than Ozzfest. But they're also pretty good guys who don't seem to have big egos. Brian sometimes shows up to play at small bars in Florida to help out his pals, and he even played with his "old" band Geordie a few years back to help out some of those guys who needed money. AC/DC not only opened for the Stones, but Angus and Malcolm joined them onstage for a song or two.

I point that out because if they have a good relationship with Ozzy, they probably wouldn't automatically rule it out. Not saying they'll definitely do it...but they don't consider themsevles "above" other bands, which I think is very cool. I've never heard an opening act say anything nasty about them.

AC/DC headlining gives Ozzy an excuse to shorten his set (Ozzy clearly should retire, but Sharon wants the money to keep coming in) and still make the same amount of money.

If AC/DC wants to reconnect with younger headbangers, perfect way. But, they're AC fuckin DC, they probably aren't worried about 16 year old kids buying their records.

Sharon could charge out the ass (but AC/DC can do this on their own) for tickets and essentially split it with AC/DC. AC/DC-Ozzy-BLS mainstage, 2nd stage can be filled with SOTU type bands.

COMMENT | Sharon...they could play it but........

I never thought Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Metallica would ever want to or need to play Ozzfest. AC/DC?, I hope not. There are still lots of bands that have not played it like Megadeth, Rush, Van Halen, Scorpions, Dream Theater, Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin etc and I hope they never do.

Fear_the_Divine_Factory: I've seen Metallica, Motley Crue, Poison, Judas Priest, the Rolling Stones and even Hate Eternal live in case you're wondering. With Hate Eternal being the only band in that group I saw being upstaged by their co-headliners (Krisiun and Into Eternity that night). So much for your *chuckle* theory.

But your post was almost a good ruse.

Beneath The Massacre are awesome though.
