Guitarist INFERNUS Vows To Continue Fight Over GORGOROTH Name - Aug. 12, 2008

GORGOROTH guitarist Infernus — who is involved in a legal dispute with his estranged bandmates over the rights to the group's name — has issued the following update via the Gorgoroth.info web site (which he controls):

"In the past few months there have been several news stories concerning the dispute between Infernus and his former bassist [King ov Hell] and vocalist [Gaahl]. Contrary to what the opposition might say, the trademark ownership matters are still as undecided as they were six months ago, and will not be resolved until a verdict is made in a to-be-announced trial in Oslo, Norway. Also, due to disagreements between Regain Records and the aforementioned former bassist and vocalist, a temporary injunction has been issued, suspending the distribution of the 'True Norwegian Black Metal - Live in Grieghallen' album until the matter can be handled in a trial in Malmö, Sweden.

"All this has understandably led to confusion among the fans, and the focus seems to have drifted away from the musical aspects. It is therefore time to get back on track and release this little update on the progress of the next album [from the Infernus-led version of GORGOROTH], 'Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt'.

"The past few months have been spent rehearsing the new material in Tomas Asklund's Monolith Studio outside of Stockholm. A pre-recording has been made, containing drums, guitars and bass.

"At the moment, Infernus is working on the arrangements, with assistance from former GORGOROTH member Tormentor. When all the songs have been arranged into a satisfactory form, the drums will be recorded in Monolith Studio. Infernus will then record the guitars in the Laboratório 6 studio in Brazil, with engineering help from Fabio Zperandio (OPHIOLATRY), and Frank Watkins [OBITUARY] will record the bass lines.

"No vocalist has been added to the lineup as of the present time, but there are several strong candidates being considered by Infernus.

"So far, everything has gone according to schedule, and the album is tentatively scheduled for a spring/summer 2009 release by Regain Records. An autumn 2009 tour is in the planning stages."

	I mean, Gaahl and King's version are going to be touring with Averse Sefira and then Cradle of Filth later in the year. This matter won't be settled anytime soon unfortunately. Anyways, I'm glad Infernus is soldering on. I'm actually really looking forward for the new album he is going to record. It sounds very promising. Personally, it a musical standpoint, it will be far more technical than the Gaahl version of Gorgoroth. I just hope this incident is settled and Infernus can keep the name. Then Gaahl and King can continue on under a different pseudonym. :)

They are the only sincere, true and authentic soundings bands around, since Venom spearheaded the thrash metal movement alongside punk co-conspirators Discharge. I am not sure why people need religion, but the Holy bible and the fuck the world attitude metal has with middle fingers shoved in everyones face, does not seem like a good mix. So black metal for what it is, works, on that level when the ideas are closer to Venom and farther way from say Dear Abby. Also, if your going to attack a extreme metal recording act, you should do some research on the bands we acutally really listen to respect and worship. You could of pulled your crazy rightwing fuckhole conspiracy theroist rant, in a Abgott news item, but bands like Gorgoroth has been the actual so-called "Gold standard" for over a decade now, for those of us who enjoy authentic unadultred extreme metal !! Polimar instead of ragging on Gorgoroth, you should of said hey I do not like this band, and give no excuse, i mean reason and recommened say 5 to 10 bands you do like or whatever. I would sell my metal collection if I ever got religion, but my collection is so big, it looks like a distrobution network warehouse, so I will continue on with metal for another 30 years or so; and ignore rightwing fuckhole outright altogther !! Throw the horns for METAL !!!!!!!!! \m/ \m/ LONG LIVE GORGOROTH !!!

	In this whole issue, it would perhaps be fitting to say that Infernus got royally screwed by Gaahl over the Gorgoroth name. Then as it turns out, Gaahl likes screwing men, so it really all works out for everyone in the end except for poor Infernus!
