GOD FORBID Records MUSE Cover For New Album - Aug. 14, 2008
New Jersey metal titans GOD FORBID have recorded a cover version of a song by the English alternative rock band MUSE for their forthcoming studio album, tentatively due in early 2009 via Century Media Records. GOD FORBID guitarist Dallas Coyle states, "My brother [fellow GOD FORBID guitarist Doc Coyle] is a big fan of MUSE so we covered the song 'Stockholm Syndrome'. We were worried as hell about it but in the end it sounded pretty killer! The record is sounding very good so far from the test mixes we've been receiving. I know before I said I had no idea what it sounds like but now I do: It sounds CRAZY!"

Dallas previously stated about the upcoming CD, "There's a song called 'Bat The Angels' that is very different than anything we've ever done. It's very dark and brooding but we have some stuff that's very thrash and traditionally melodic. I guess we've always done a lot of different things from record to record but this record seems to be going a bit far. We have a title for the record which I can't divulge yet but I really think we should call it '?'. I don't know what the fuck it's going to be! I hope that's exciting for you guys and girls who care."

On the subject of the band's decision to delay the album's release until 2009, Dallas said, "Our mixing situation fell through and we're taking our time now. Rushing a record is the worst thing you can do especially when it's as important as this record is for us. Look for a January/February release for the new GF album. I'm excited because I have a lot of time off to market this record and get my shit together in general."

The only way for these guys to stay around is to drop all that fucking screaming.. Look at Killswitch Engage.. the only reason theyt sold many albums was because of the Melodic The End of Heartache..

the next album (even with that shitty Holy Diver cover has yet to sell more than 200,000.. There's a reason for that.. People can only take so much fucking screaming!

actually, the "heartache" album by Killswitch was their worst offering. or tied for worst with that last hunk of crap they released. their fist album (Feret Records?) and "Alive or Just Breathing" blow their last two away. the "screaming" vocals sometimes fits with the music better, and a lot of us like it. maybe you and the general public can only take so much screaming / death metal vocals. then again, I'm talking to someone who equates record sales with the quality of music, so I'm wasting my breath (or whatever I'd be wasting considering I'm typing and not talking - wasting my fingertips?). last point for now - is Britney Spears better than Killswitch? By your logic she must be, because she has even more melody and sells way more records.

i usually don't post on threads about bands i dislike but these guys for the most part blow. they are just covering this song so they can get noticed by the masses.gf is repetetive and boring.
