RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE To Play War Protest Show During DNC

DenverPost.com reports that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE will perform as part of the "Tent State Music Festival to End the War" on Wednesday, August 27 at the Denver Coliseum during the Democratic National Convention. They will be joined by Denver's FLOBOTS, along with THE COUP, STATE RADIO and WAYNE KRAMER. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., show begins at 11 a.m. Tickets are free and available by lottery. Sign up for the lottery, with a valid photo ID (person must be present) at Tent State University at Cuernavaca Park between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. from Sunday, Aug. 24, through Tuesday, Aug. 26 (look for the Tent State Music Festival booth near the IVAW Tower). Winners will be notified by email Tuesday evening, Aug. 26. Each lottery winner will get two tickets. Winners can claim their tickets at the Denver Coliseum beginning 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27. ...sorta. They are playing in Minneapolis at the Target Center while the RNC is going on across the river, 15 minutes away, in St. Paul at the Xcel Energy Center. Tickets are $60 with a $15 ticketmeiser charge.

Rage is playing at the Denver Coliseum, not the Pepsi Center (where the national convention is being held). Both arenas are owned by two different entities. I doubt that they were granted permission from the DNC to play here in Denver....

#2 They play the TARGET center with TICKETMASTER as the distribution, so even you can rage against the machine for 60$ + a 15% service charge. Yeah that's not cooperate at all... Since the first OPEC oil crisis, the writing was on the wall that we all were subject to being held hostage by OPEC nations. With this war we simply found the most dispicablle tyrant in the region and replaced him (by force) with a government that will not be subject to OPEC's influence, but will be friendly to our cause, and will agree to keep the oil wells (lifeblood) pumping our way.
Isn't it obvious what influence oil prices have on our economy with the current recession? Oil drives every market on the table, do you think American leaders want to leave our economic security to chance?
What happens when food cant be processed and shipped, what happens when factories began to close, you think they want that future to be in the hands of the Saudis, Venezuela, Iran, etc?

He was an easy target. This is not about a quick buck, its a about the stability of our nations economy over the next 50 years or so. Iraq is sitting on about 120 billion barrels of oil, second only to saudi arabia. we control that and we have energy independence long enough to convert our economy to alternative fuel sources.

what the fuck did we do for the iraqis? they used to lead normal lives, even if they didnt like their govt, they had jobs and schools, hospitals and markets. now theyre having to replace their entire infrastructure while avoiding suicide bombers along the way. they may have it better in the long run, but in the short run they may well lose their lives before they get there
