THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Pulls Out Of SUICIDE SILENCE Tour - Aug. 16, 2008
New Jersey "mathcore" band THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN has pulled out of the previously announced fall 2008 tour with SUICIDE SILENCE, EMMURE, and BENEATH THE MASSACRE. THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN writes on its MySpace page, "Due to circumstances beyond our control (no we're not breaking up so don't believe anything that might start floating around on the Internet), we will not be taking part in that tour. We wish every other band on the tour well, and hope that it is a great success for them and for the people behind the scenes working hard to make it a great tour."

In other news, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN has commenced the songwriting process for its next album which it plans to record sometime next year. "We have a good amount of ideas in the initial testing stages, and we're about to really dive in," the band says. "We also have a DVD of early years DILLINGER in the works for all you old heads or people interested in a history lesson."

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN has posted its "summer tour webisode 4" featuring performance footage from San Francisco, California as well as behind-the-scenes clips from the road. Watch the five-and-a-half-minute clip below.

After taking part in the 2008 Warped Tour, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN has just completed a run of North American dates with CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, THROWDOWN and BURY YOUR DEAD.

thank god.
they had no business on that tour, unless they were headlining. theyre wayyyy too good to open for suicide silence.

...but I saw DEP open for Cavalera Conspiracy a month or so ago. They were the worst, most unlistenable sh*t. In all honesty, they came across sounding like Vendetta Red (an Emo band that got booed off the stage opening for AC/DC), lots of pointless noise and screaming.
On top of that, they all purposely jumped around on stage to show how "crazy" they were. The bearded guitarist looked like a big doofus. And the singer went out of his way to hang upside down from the balcony (I'm sure he does that at every gig) - I guess no one told him Eddie Vedder was doing that 15 years ago.
Just too calculated and the music was sh*t, sorry. It baffles me that people actually say they make good music. But I guess trad metal fans said that about Slayer 20+ years ago.

good thing they got off that tour. emmure are horrible. suicide silence are mediocre. Beneath The Massacre are too good for this tour also. they should drop off and tour with Origin. heads would explode on that tour.

I was hoping the band would do a mass suicide and be silenced FOREVER!!!!!!

We all know the reason they pulled out is because the singer didn't do his chores at home and got punished. The guy is 30+ years old and still lives in his parents' basement. How UNMETAL is that????

I don't understand the appeal of deathcore either, just don't get it. DEP has no business being on this tour with that's essentially advanced emo. Beneath the Massacre was buried beneath the bill made up of bands that were much better and more entertaining than them last Saturday. How many different ways can you start and stop a riff to try to create the most derrivitive mosh part ever? Apparently they found about 10 different ways to start and stop the same riff to make up an album worth of songs.
