METALLICA: New Studio Footage Posted Online

New "fly-on-the-wall" footage of METALLICA working on its new album has surfaced on the MissionMetallica.com web site and can be viewed below. METALLICA has officially set Friday, September 12 as the "worldwide" release date for its new album, "Death Magnetic". The CD will be available to download for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on the same day the album arrives in stores. The band is offering the record for sale in numerous configurations, ranging from a digital-only release to a deluxe "coffin box" that will come with a bonus CD, a DVD, a T-shirt, guitar picks and other goodies. That makes me want to pick up a guitar. That's what old Metallica made me do. I haven't felt like learning a Metallica riff in years. This clip here makes me want to pick up my guitar.

that is what I call thrash metal from ages! thats what I am talking about, good riffage ! reminds me a little of the old song from Laaz Rockit from the 80's called "Leatherface" from the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre, not bad noeither good good, but at least they are doing something that we expect from a band of their caliber!!

even thou the production is different, the bits of vocals that we hear at the end of the clip reminds me of "And Justice For All" good for them,

A little Death Angel, something from frolic from the park... Also really sounds a lot like Damage Inc. I'll be glad when I can listen to some full songs off the album.

...My Apocalypse perhaps?
It was cited as the fastest song on the album, and Jaymz yells "Death will be an atom bomb" (from what I could make of it).
Anyhoo....sounds better than a deaf mute trying to order Worchestershire at the local steakhouse.

At the expense of sounding completely gay, I really rather enjoy seeing people getting pumped for this album. Makes me get pumped up too.
I still think yesterday's clips on YouTube were the best yet, with the "piano solo" lol.

alot of these small clips sound pretty promising and im willing to give this a shot for sure. but i really dont think cyanide is that good... beyond the soloing it was pretty boring. and they must think of that as a stand out track if they are introducing the new album with it... anyways i dont know what to think. just have to wait i guess

It may or may not be my Apocalyspe, but when they were recording in the studio, they hadn't worked out the track listing yet...
Also,genomyte, that was almost a great comment, except for the fact that most trailers don't have basements.

The stuff they've been releasing over the last few days sounds awesome. No wonder that this thread is basher-free. You certainly can't say that this sounds like the Loads. Hell, this track sounds more like Slayer.

I am a metallica fan too and like what they´ve done til st. anger! But WHY is everyone so excited bout the new album and if its thrashy or not??? If you want to hear real good thrash listen to the new laaz rockit or wait til the new the haunted is released!
