SEBASTIAN BACH: The Only Way I Would Consider A SKID ROW Reunion... - Aug. 20, 2008
2TheAdvocate.com recently conducted an interview with Sebastian Bach. Sebastian candidly talks with Erin Michelli about working with Axl Rose, his tattoos and much, much more. The rocker even gives up the details on the strangest thing a fan has ever shown him.

Regarding the possibility of a SKID ROW reunion with him on vocals, Bach said, "The only way that I would consider that is if we came up with some brand new music that was good. I would never just get together to relive the old days. That makes me nauseous to think like that — it makes me sick. To me, that's not real. To me, that's fake. I would be lying to the audience. If I got together with those four guys right now and just did songs from 20 years ago on tour, I would be lying to you; I would be a fake. Now, on the other hand, if we all came together like we did before and came up with some songs that were good, that we had a record, that would be totally different — that would be exciting — but I don't really foresee that happening. That's the way we rocked before — we made albums and then we went out and played them; we didn't just play stuff from 20 years ago. I can't stand that way of thinking. I know I'm different or… something's wrong with me or something. Everybody's [like], 'Hey, when are you getting together? Everybody else did?' Well, if David Lee Roth jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge, would I jump off the Brooklyn Bridge?' [Laughs]"

Watch the 10-minute interview at this location.

Sebastian Bach's "Angel Down" limited-edition CD/DVD package, featuring "Roadrage", a film by Sebastian Bach, was made available in the USA as an FYE exclusive at all FYE stores nationwide and also at the FYE booth on the POISON tour. "Roadrage" features five tracks, "100% live, pro-shot" on the 2006 North American GUNS N' ROSES/SEBASTIAN BACH tour.

"Angel Down" was produced by Roy Z (BRUCE DICKINSON, HALFORD, JUDAS PRIEST), and recorded at Sound City Studios and Under City Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Joining Bach in the studio were guitarists "Metal" Mike Chlasciak and Johnny Chromatic, Bobby Jarzombek on drums, and Steve DiGiorgio on bass. GUNS N' ROSES' Axl Rose makes a special guest appearance contributing vocals on three of the album's songs — "(Love is a) Bitchslap", a cover of AEROSMITH's "Back In the Saddle" and "Stuck Inside".

An e-card for "Angel Down" can be found at this location.

Fan-filmed video footage of Sebastian Bach's July 11, 2008 performance at the Moondance Jam in Walker, Minnesota can be viewed below (clip uploaded by YouTube user "1qzxqzx1").

Horn up to T-Boner!!!

Finally someone else who agrees with me.

What's all this crap about a SKID ROW reunion. They never broke up. Both records with Sollinger stand up to "Slave..." and "Subhuman Race" and even surpasses their highly overrated debut.

SKID ROW doesn't want a "reunion", neither does Bach. The only people who do are the "fans" who deserted the band when Bach go the boot.

And they have no say.

Reunion? Hmm. I think StygianKING#1 said it best.

I like the way Bach likens Skid Row's career to Van Halen's - the latter had a few more hits I think. Deluded much?

This is wild speculation but I really do wonder if the real reason the reunion hasn't happened is simply because the people making the offers - if any - don't think it's worth as much as the band does.
Two solid albums don't make a legend.

And it's very odd to hear a man talking about relevance and integrity when he signs up for any reality show going. He really is King Of Contradiction.

The guy is a turkey, and the whole I don't want to play old music statement seems to run hollow when he spends every interview wonderously selling the virtues of the other turkey who has to play stuff 20 years old because thats how long the new album has been in the works. Shut up Mr Bach (possibly not his real name) its obvious you would give your left nut to play in that band and everyone knows it.

Yes, he does a couple of songs... not the entire show.

I don't know you why you need to spread the hateraid on Bach. He is happy doing what he does. He put out new music. He enjoys his life by the sounds of it. He has fans... probably more than you have. Good for him.

Hey Bas, I'm all for new music from Skid row but the sad reality is nobody would care about it...You will become a nostaligia act like everybody else from your era. Kiss, Def Leppard, even Metallica are stuck playing shit from the past constantly.
Bon Jovi is the only band who managed to have new hit albums/singles that people would care buying. Iron maiden was doing fine...until they decide to return into their past with the Powerslave tour.

\m/\m/ awesome I think its about damn time these old ass bands that reunite to relive the glory days give it up. Your glory days are over. Make some new music thats what we really need. Some music that matches the times. Its not all about rock and roll chicks and drugs anymore, and rebelling, we have all grown up. Its time to get with the times. Make new music, play the old stuff too, but don't make it solely about the good ol days!

Angel Down is a great album. and the Skid Row albums where that also. but every band and solo artist that get big always seem to stuck with the hits wich are often not the best songs but only the songs people who dont realy care about music or just listen to what they are supposed to care about. the real fans want to hear just about any sons, new or old. people are always trying to relive some memories or have some nostalgia trip. like one guy in Eagles said when asked how poeple would like their new songs, people judge it before they hear it and say its not as good as hotel california or something like that, but when they listen they like it even better or as much, and why shou8ld bands try to make the same song over and over again?
and Bon Jovi are a joke, they have been making the same radio friendly rock over and over again, and they are a band that you realy dont hate or love, they are just there. but most people arent music fans or have it as a hobby, they just buy whats supposed to be good at each time and dont even know their old favorite bands are playing and if they see them live they oly wanna hear the old stuff, must be boring sometimes.

would be best to be in a band like Dream Theater, only true fans at concerts and they can play whatever they like and everyone likes it.

but Bach is a great singer and is doing fine solo, just hope he makes a new cd soon again, or makes a new Frameshift album with that swedish guy.

but its fine also to do like maiden, do a tour or some gigs and play some albums in the whole or few albums or something like that, theres nothing wrong by embracing the past, ut dont do it every year and also at least play 3-4 new songs every tour or every 2-3 years.
Bach have been doing that now for 5 years or so, so credits to him and he's even been adding more songs from Angel Down. unlike Metallica, saw them 2 years ago and they only played old songs and was the only band at the festival that did it(AIC did it to but they didnt count at that time).
yea and Bach played this festaval too, it was Nova Rock and he blew them away like most of the bands i saw did.

There was a time, that I once was a fan of Skid Row BUT I did not desert the band just because Sebastian got the "boot."

I deserted the band for several reasons....when it was revealed that Snake & Rachel deceived everyone by taking credit for writing all the songs on the debut album....like 18 & Life....I Remember You & a few others, which were actually written by Jon Bon Jovi. They never felt compelled to even share this knowledge with their singer...not only was the fans deceived, but so was their singer.

Another reason....you don't fire your singer because your jealous of the attention he received. It wasn't the singer's fault, that the journalist only wanted to speak to him.

Another reason....you don't fire your singer because he wants to participate in the creative process of the band....after all, he is the one who has to sing the songs.

The bottom line is....Skid Row was together for several years before they discovered Bach & Jon Bon Jovi wouldn't help them get signed until they found a decent singer, only after they hired Bach on, did they get signed. Snake, Rachel & Scotti are your average musicians....Sebastian's singing talent & passion is the ONLY thing that ever made them huge back in the day.

And in regards to reality shows....it's what America watches....how can you diss someone for participating in something that you watch yourself!?! Everyone is always the first to yell "greed"....but we've all done jobs that we didn't really like, but we needed to pay the rent & buy groceries....is that greed? I'm sure Sebastian & alot of other struggling musicians are not wealthy and if they can find a way to support themselves & their families, while they create music....then that is GREAT!...because then music lovers like myself have something to listen to.

Killian: you right about some of these thing but i have never heard Bon Jovi did write these songs ut of course you dont want to mention his name if it is so :) but you should if its right. but they got better anyway after the first album and didnt go the easy way like Bon Jovi, they challenged their fans and didnt just keep on writing 18 and life or i remember again and again.

I'm sorry. Mr. kilian1. I'm not calling you a liar but I think you may be mistaken. Jon Bon Jovi's ego is no big secret so I have a hard time believing that he wouldn't want to receive credit for writing all of SKID ROW's major hits.

While you're reasons for bailing on the band may differ slightly, the facts is the vast majority of fans jumped ship because of the vocal change (even more gave up on "hair metal"altogether). Remember people are basically sheep. Once they no longer can identify with the voice in a band they desert them. JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, SEPULTURA, ANTHRAX, SKID ROW all experienced sicnificant drops in sales and over all interest with the vocal change.

Come on man.............I know your Skid Row homer. But not even you can't say the two Bachless albums where worth anything. The first one is listenable but its far from anything great. The second one I have no clue WTF it is. It just might have been one of the worse albums ever. It really was that bad. No way can you sugarcoat that.

I totally get what Baz is saying. Look at all these acts who just get up there and sing. Sure the fans want it. But if any of these bands could actually write something worth a crap it would sell. Every band has to play there past hits. You'll never get away from it and you shouldn't. But what Baz is saying in not so many words is so many of these bands are just living off there past and could careless about any new music. Its only about the $$$$$$$$$. I think Baz just has more respect for bands of the past that actually put out new music like Iron Maiden and Tesla to name just few then bands like Poison and Warrant.
