JIMMY PAGE To Perform LED ZEPPELIN Classic With LEONA LEWIS At Olympics Closing Ceremony - Aug. 21, 2008
According to Gigwise.com, LED ZEPPELIN guitarist Jimmy Page will play the band's classic song "Whole Lotta Love" alongside Leona Lewis at the closing ceremony of the 2008 Olympics Games in Beijing.

Bassist Guy Pratt apparently let slip what song they would perform in a post on his blog.

"You may also be interested to know that when Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis perform 'Whole Lotta Love' at the end of the Olympics, that’s me playing bass on it," he wrote.

all you noodle heads that bash everyone and everything just shut the **** up!!! Jimmy Page can do whatever he wants. If it bothers you, don't watch, you can always go hang out in your closet and do a little rubba dub dub action.

Oh yeah, Leona Lewis is HOT!!!!

I liked his song with Puffy, which is odd cuz I hate rap with a passion... this is just wrong tho... does she even know who Zepplin is?

not knocking Page, it really will not matter much, but I think he just really wants to get out & play, especially after the 02 concert. Must be disappointing. He is getting old. When will the 60's rockers hang it up, or will they just go on like the Bluesman?

a musician ever hang it up?

Think about how stupid that is to ask someone to stop doing something they have a great passion for. Why don't you clowns hang it up and go play in traffic, then we won't have to listen to your stupid comments anymore.

people retire. Mick Jagger's going to continue at that pace? That's not STUPID to ask. not to mention these guys are NOT getting it done, performance wise, so yeah, its a logical question to consider retirement at that level.

People retire when they choose to do so, not when some whiney punks think they should. That's the point and it really wasn't that difficult to figure that out.

Maybe I'll decide when you should stop listening to music. Okay, start now.

It's just possible that Guy was kidding (he does a whole stand-up act about his life as a session musician, so it ain't impossible)

But if he isn't, good luck to Mr Page. After all, Percy's been lucky enough to share a stage with Alison Krauss for months - why should he have all the fun?

And, whatever you may think of her music, Leona can definitely sing

It's great that Jimmy is going to perform but the song selection and choice of LEONA LEWIS is strange.

London is going to host the 2012 Olympics why not do a duet with Paul McCartney cover a Beatles song, Zeppelin, Stones or The Who song add John Paul Jones, Charlie Watts, Keith Richards add Eric Clapton maybe Pete Townsend and then you'll have a London gig how about David Bowie too. Jeez could it get any better; what if David Gilmour showed up and these guys played Rock & Roll?

AND BRAIN MAY 7 ROGER TAYLOR SHOW UP AND THEY PLAY WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS

can write a song as good as... I don't know 25-30 Led Zep songs, then we'll talk. Jimmy Page in his heyday pisses on Slash. Don't get me wrong, I like Slash but Page was more versatile and more gifted.
