OZZY OSBOURNE To Perform In Japan For First Time In Seven Years - Aug. 24, 2008
According to UPI.com, Ozzy Osbourne will perform in Japan for the first time in seven years, promoters say. The British rocker will perform at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan on October 27, marking the ninth time the 59-year-old singer has rocked a Japanese locale, Japan Today reported Sunday.

As previously reported, OZZY OSBOURNE will perform at Affliction Entertainment's upcoming October event.

"Affliction: Day of Reckoning" takes place October 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. A heavyweight bout between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett headlines the event.

Osbourne, who is one of many musicians under contract to Affliction Clothing, had been rumored as a possible performer at Affliction's debut event in May, but MEGADETH was instead booked for the gig.

Ozzy Osbourne has begun work on his next studio album , his wife/manager Sharon revealed during a recent interview. The new disc will follow up 2007's "Black Rain", which has sold more than 500,000 copies in the U.S. and was Osbourne's first all-new studio recording in six years.

The Osbourne family is slated to return to television this fall in a new "reality variety" series on Fox tentatively titled "The Osbournes: Loud and Dangerous". Fox has ordered six episodes of the one-hour series, which will be the family's first foray into TV since their MTV reality show, "The Osbournes", became a pop culture phenomenon several years ago.

The new series will feature musical performances, comedy sketches, and game-show competitions.

How about "Ozzy to release first decent album in 25 years" then?

No? Didn't think so.

This lumbering oaf, the walking joke, should have quit long ago. Do an album with Sabbath or go lie down.

If you ask Ozzy, he won't even remember when he was in Japan the last time. Well, that's his charm! Ozzy is our beloved rock 'n' roll goof, what a killer ride he's been through!

The latest album "Black Rain" fared well in my mind. Some cool songs there. Nothing too special, but decent heavy rock. Hopefully something more inspiring comes out next, the last 2 albums have been in the same kind of vein. Ozzmosis was very cool, totally different and new until that point of time. Ozzy made his best albums (or had them made with pro musicians unlike himself) in 1980-1991, that's his "classic era".

Ozzy gave his contribution and energy into Black Sabbath, I think the line "Without Black Sabbath there would be no Ozzy and without Ozzy there would be no Black Sabbath" is very accurate. Without Ozzy, Black Sabbath would have been very different (at least image-wise if not music-wise) and without the combined effort that became the success of Black Sabbath no-one would have welcomed Ozzy as a solo artist the way he was welcomed back in 1980 and onwards.
