Liquor Ban At MÖTLEY CRÜE's Toronto Show - Aug. 28, 2008
According to the Toronto Sun, no alcohol is being sold at Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre tonight (Thursday, August 28) for MÖTLEY CRÜE's day-long, multi-act concert dubbed Crüe Fest 2008. A press release last night from promoters Live Nation announced that the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario suspended the liquor licence of the Molson Amphitheatre from 11 a.m. today until 2 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Although no detailed information was given, the suspension comes from various infractions which took place during the 2007 concert season at the venue which holds roughly 15,000.

Read more from the Toronto Sun.

In addition to the CRÜE, other acts on the Crüe Fest bill include BUCKCHERRY, PAPA ROACH, TRAPT and SIXX: A.M.

Buying booze and beer at shows has sucked for years now. Unless you want to stand around in a little roped in area. Back in the day you could buy beer and take it to your seat. Seems like everything is restricted these days. Oh well, Hit the liquor store on your way and off ya go.

Consuming alcohol is a personal choice, but it would be pretty sad if your concert going experience is spoiled because you can't drink at the venue.

The best idea is always to piss it up after the event that way you remember everything you paid big $$ this day and age to see.

That's OK, Vince Neil will drink enough for all 15,000 of the fans.
Then he'll hold the mic out to the crowd and have them all sing 90% of the lyrics they just paid $150 to hear him sing. The other 10% of the lyrics, he'll shriek off-key so bad that he'll make the crowd wish they were still singing it.

I do it all the time - make sure whatever you buy is glass or plastic and doesn't have an alumunum cap so it doesn't set off the metal detectors - I usually sneak a pint in and stick it in my back pocket and no one ever notices you can't go wrong with glass or plastic - also just toke up in the parking lot before going in - it's that simple - been doing it for years and years
just some advice for all of everyone's future shows

That's fucking stupid. What are ya 12? Go drink before or after and quit bitching. Most of you youngsters end up throwing up or passed out on the fucking floor of the concert looking like the dumbasses you are. You shouldn't be allowed to drink or pro-create, ever.
This world is on a path to end up like the movie "Idiocracy" with a black president.

What happened to going to concerts to enjoy the music? Do you need to be sloppy drunk to have a good time or is that the only way you know how to let loose because you stole your dad's gin out of the liquor closet when you were 14 and ended up living in a van down by the river because of a lot of "bad life choices"...

And by the way, look who's banning the liquor...Canada fucking sucks.

Nothing wrong with getting loaded at a show or going straight. Whatever floats your boat. I like to have a few in me and be a little fucked up. So what? My choice. Sometimes, I don't do anything. Usually though, I like to be buzzed and never had a problem accomplishing getting loaded in a show for the last 20 years of going to them.

Holy Geez, some of you guys are pretty tempermental about someone having a different opinion other than yours.

If you want to booze it up at a show, go right ahead. I did say it was a personal choice. If you need artificial stimulation to enjoy Heavy Metal then that's your cross to bear.

As for me, Metal is my drug.

Okay you evolutionary U-turn, I can't state this any more monosyllabically for you to understand. I never said it was wrong to consume alcohol at shows. I simply said it wasn't necessary to enjoy the concert experience and that it was a better idea to drink after the gig. I've seen firsthand too many people get bombed to the point where they passed out and missed the headlining act.

As for Dave Levine's post...Dude, pay attention! We're saying the same thing.

As for you not knowing what "artificial stimulation" means, and if calling someone a "Bitch" is the extent of your scope and verbal skills, then I think you need to work on your vocabulary. Laying off the booze will assist in that.

Since you want to go back to my original post...

I said it would be "pretty sad" if you needed alcohol to enjoy a concert. You're going to see The Metal Masters tour tomorrow. You're also making the wise choice of going without until after the show. Will seeing these legendary artists be ruined because you can't/aren't indulging? It would be "Sad" if that "experience is spoiled" because of it.

Enjoy the show tomorrow. You're fortunate enough to get the entire package in your area. We only got JUDAS PRIEST and TESTAMENT in my area.
