WES BORLAND On BLACK LIGHT BURNS: New Album Is '90% Finished' - Sep. 2, 2008
BLACK LIGHT BURNS mainman/ex-LIMP BIZKIT guitarist Wes Borland has issued the following update:

"The new [BLACK LIGHT BURNS] record is about 90% finished. Nick [Annis, BLB guitarist] and I are doing some final guitar tracks tomorrow and then we'll polish the mixes. As far as my opinion is concerned, we just topped 'Cruel Melody' [BLACK LIGHT BURNS' debut album]. I'm so excited for you guys to hear this... We might have to put some songs up soon. We're currently booking shows for January-February 2009 in the U.S. with COMBICHRIST. A few more possible engagements have presented themselves before next year, but we'll have to wait and see how things work out. I can't wait to come over to Europe and Japan. So much is happening. Excited."

BLACK LIGHT BURNS recently released "Cover Your Heart and The Anvil Pants Odyssey", a combination CD and DVD package on I Am: Wolfpack/YMA Music Group. Packed with reinterpreted songs of bands including DURAN DURAN ("Hungry Like the Wolf"), THE JESUS LIZARD ("The Art of Self Defense"), SISTERS OF MERCY ("Lucretia My Reflection") and PJ HARVEY ("Rid of Me"), "Cover Your Heart" is a deconstruction and reconstruction of music that the band has loved and appreciated.

Im excited to hear this. They should stop putting 'ex-limp bizkit' after his name, it's been ages and it's not a credit to him!

I think Wes should get in the studio with Manson and contribute some ideas to the new album. I think with Twiggy and him at the helm they can create something as good as the best Manson material of the past.

First album had some good material. Its safe to say he did his best work in Limp Bizkit (fuck fred, John Otto and Sam Rivers are sound musicians), but I'm not holding my breath like some of these panzies are doing for the new Metallica.

I do however want to see them live, I hear they put on a great show.

Oh, I'm sorry; rather than changing around words to articulate how unpleasant I find this musical selection, I should have just spelled it out for you:

IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There you go, asshole!

He left the band twice already and he has already moved on. Hell, Mr. Trent "I'm Sober Now I Swear" Reznor offerered him a dream position as official NIN touring guitarist (for With Teeth and Year Zero), but he knocked it back in favor of doing his own stuff for a while. You gotta admit, if you can forgive Wes for being involved with one of the worst bands of all time, you can really dig BLB. Hell, the FFTL album he did work on sounds pretty sick, and I usually stay away from all those "post-hardcore emocore" bands
