DRAGONFORCE: More 'Ultra Beatdown' First-Week Chart Positions Revealed - Sep. 5, 2008
"Ultra Beatdown", the new album from British extreme epic power metallers DRAGONFORCE, has registered the following first-week chart positions:

Japan: #9
Canada: #15
USA: #18
UK: #18
Australia: #18
Ireland: #47

"Ultra Beatdown" sold 24,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

DRAGONFORCE will hit the U.S. for a six-week headline tour that hits major markets. DRAGONFORCE are a touring machine, but their last headline tour occured two years ago in September 2006. It was a sold-out spectacle that cemented the band's reputation as a live powerhouse, so it's time for the band to once again topline a bill. TURISAS will serve as main support for the tour, which kicks off on November 1 and runs through December 19.

DRAGONFORCE has absolutely erupted since the release of 2006's "Inhuman Rampage", which has sold over 300,000 copies and counting. They've captured the hearts and hands of Guitar Hero 3 fans with their masterful guitar wizardry and have graced the January 2008 cover of Revolver as well as the covers of Guitar World and Decibel. The accolades on "Ultra Beatdown" keep pouring in, with Alternative Press lauding the band as "poised to enter the relatively underoccupied pantheon of British metal."

dragonforce is a phenomenon that shows us quality of the music has no importance in terms of selling lots of records. bands may sell out, get mellower and sell more records, but doing it with just a video game is mind blowing. never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

That album introduced me to the band. The guitarist(s)?? is extremely fast. Although, I feel that there are other musicians out there who a very competitive, I think its the recording sound, song structure/harmonies and their image that makes them sell. I agree with bigmonkeydope it all sonds the same.
But I dont necessarly think that is bad or good. Growth will probably occur in the next few albums when they go on tour with Miley Cyrus.

But a bit too repetitive at times.

Still a nice break from all the dm.

Cheers to their success.

Meh, Not really my taste. But how exactly are they "a gay poser band"

That's just bullshit, their talented enough, it's not all guitar hero that's selling them records.

As for it all sounding the same... I haven't heard very many of their songs so I can't give much of an educated opinion on that. But isn't that exactly what people never stop bitching about on this site.

Whenever a band changes their sound, by the smallest amount, they either suck, or they've sold out. Fucking people can never be pleased.

Do yourself a fucking favor and stop polluting the world with your fucking idiocy... Go read a book or something.
