MAYHEM To Tour U.S. In The Spring - Sep. 6, 2008
Norwegian black metallers MAYHEM are planning a U.S. tour in early 2009. The trek will reportedly consist of 21 shows and will kick off in the early spring. The exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

MAYHEM was honored in the "Metal" category at the 36th annual Spellemann awards (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards) for their latest release, "Ordo Ad Chao". The largest and oldest Norwegian music awards show was held on February 2, 2008 at the Spektrum in Oslo, Norway and was broadcast live on the Norwegian channel TV2.

A photo of MAYHEM members Jan Axel Blomberg (a.k.a. Hellhammer; drums) and Jørn Stubberud (a.k.a. Necrobutcher; bass) with their Spellemann award can be viewed at Dagbladet.no.

Speaking to Dagbladet.no, Stubberud implied that MAYHEM might have released its last album ever with "Ordo Ad Chao". "For us to make a record is such a great undertaking that I have to admit I can't entertain the idea of starting a new one," he said. "We'll see in a couple of years, but I can't guarantee anything whatsoever."

"Ordo Ad Chao" entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 12, the band's highest position ever.

MAYHEM had only once before been on the Norwegian charts, when the band's last album, "Chimaira", reached No. 28 in 2004.

Fan-filmed video footage of MAYHEM performing the song "Freezing Moon" on June 20, 2008 at the Hellfest in Clisson, France can be viewed below (clip uploaded by Dave Ingham a.k.a. YouTube user "triptykon").

Last time I tried to see Mayhem I drove 3 hours to Seattle only to find out it was cancelled. And this time their singer is a guy with a criminal record for possession of ecstasy with intent to sell. How is he going to get into the country? I'd like to see them but I don't want to drive for nothing again.

Don't be surprise if Mayhem performs at the LA Murderfest 2009!

Hellhammer better not do something retarded again like playing with Dimmu Borgir and breaking his arm, we could of seen Mayhem with the Ordo Ad Chao lineup and Sigh, but that idiot had to do it and cancell the tour.

Ordo Ad Chao was a horrible recording. I dont think I can spend my money on the tour. I heard that Hellhammer wont be touring with them (Not sure if it's true or not, I know he's working with others). It wouldn't be good without him.

Honestly, is there anyone concerned about Mayhem in 2008?
