MUDVAYNE: New Album Track Listing Revealed - Sep. 6, 2008
MUDVAYNE will release its new album, "The New Game", in November. The band recently wrapped up the disc with producer Dave Fortman (SLIPKNOT, EVANESCENCE).

In a recent interview with Headbanger's Blog, Fortman said about the album, "It's heavy and has great hooks, but it also has some moments that are a little more rock 'n' roll that are really cool. It's not anything drastic, but every now and then you'll catch a little hint of old-school rock. Also, the tones are a little more earthy sounding and a little warmer than [2005's] 'Lost and Found'."

"The New Game" track listing:

01. Fish Out Of Water
02. Have It Your Way
03. A New Game
04. Dull Boy
05. Do What You Do
06. The Hate In Me
07. Scarlet Letters
08. Same Ol?
09. Never Enough
10. A Cinderella Story
11. We The People

MUDVAYNE reportedly plans on releasing another full-length collection of new material next summer. The band is said to have most of the music for the second album written, but still needs vocal melodies on four songs. "We may go for even more of a metal approach on some of the songs to break it up a little bit," Fortman told Headbanger's Blog. "But who knows what they’ll come up with."

MUDVAYNE issued a collection of fan-selected rarities called "By The People, For The People" in 2007. It featured one new track called "Dull Boy" (see video below).

MUDVAYNE was initially rumored as one of the big acts on this summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour, which is co-headlined by DISTURBED and SLIPKNOT, but those plans never materialized.

Singer Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett spent most of last year and the first part of 2008 touring with their other group, HELLYEAH, which also includes members of PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN and NOTHINGFACE.

Drummer Matt McDonough told The Pulse of Radio recently that he's been concerned about staying in shape during the band's long layoff. "Yeah, I'm not getting any younger, so I love to run, I've got a nice elliptical here at my house, but nothing compares to being onstage and playing my drums," he said. "I mean, you can sit down at a kit by yourself in your basement and it's just — the energy isn't the same. And I don't think you, for me, I don't play the same way. So I'm a little nervous about going back onstage again. It's gonna be some work to get my stage legs."

Mudvayne always was weak... What is this "LD 50 was their best record" crap... They are crap... talented players, but that makes no difference if you suck... Put the nu metal to bed, son.

Hopefully it will sound 'warmer' than the last album because the production was just way too clean. It definitely needs to sound balsier.

This sounds like it's going to be shitty. I lost a lot of interest in them anyways for mellowing out way too much.

Hopefully this will be an awesome cd, they're worked on it long enough. BTW go to their myspace page, there used to be just a riff on there but its longer now with vocals. It's pretty heavy and badass imo.

I AM a metal fan.
I am NOT a nu metal fan.

Mudvayne are talented, as players, just bad songwriters, kind of like Primus...

Crap.

bored as shit playing this song. it looks like the drummer and the guitar player are just so bored with their singer and the bloody hospital smocks. the singer looks totally strung out on coke. the blood on his smock is most likely real. it probably came from that bad coke deal before the video shoot. these guys have sucked for a long time, and it looks like some of them are starting to realize it.
