AMORPHIS To Enter Studio In November - Sep. 8, 2008

Finnish metallers AMORPHIS will embark on a North American tour in September. Guitarist Esa Holopainen says: "This is our first tour in this region with our latest album, 'Silent Waters'. Tickets are selling well so you can only be happy. We picked SAMAEL and LEAVES' EYES as support acts because we know the guys and this kind of musical combination offers something for everyone."

AMORPHIS will enter Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki in November to record the follow-up to the "Eclipse" and "Silent Waters" albums, both of which were certified gold in the band's native Finland. Esa reveals, "We have been working really hard on new material and the new record should be out sometime next spring. The new material will again be very epic.”

AMORPHIS' latest album, "Silent Waters", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 44. Released in North America on September 18, 2007, the CD is the second AMORPHIS album to feature singer Tomi Joutsen (SINISTHRA). It was recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki, Finland. Mixing duties were handled by Mikko Karmila (NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS) at Finnvox studios.

	Excellent news, the last two Amorphis albums kicked ass and the new singer has been a rebirth for this band.

	Awesome... Silent Waters was an incredible album.

	Eclipse and Silent Waters are possibly the two best albums they've ever done, the new one will inevitably join them.

	The only Amorphis album I didn't like was Far from The Sun. Can't wait for a new album.
