METALLICA Live Broadcast Sets Record

According to FMQB.com, last week's FMQB radio broadcast, "The World Premiere of Death Magnetic", was heard on 175+ stations across the United States and Canada, setting a new bar for clearance levels of an FMQB Productions event. The program was broadcast live from METALLICA headquarters in San Rafael, California and featured all four members of METALLICA — James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo — sitting down for a conversation with FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins. FMQB Productions Executive Producer Fred Deane commented, "This was truly a landmark event for the radio and music industries. The overwhelming response to a live show of this magnitude should restore everyone's belief in the power of radio and revered artists of the caliber of METALLICA. We've yet to have a broadcast event be received quite like this one and are proud to have played an integral role in this history making occasion." "This was the best live broadcast of an event I have ever been involved with, and I've done some big ones," said Warner Bros. SVP of Promotion Ron Cerrito. "There were many elements that made this event so special. Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins did an excellent job. From a pure music level, nothing can take the place of an artist having a conversation with another artist. i listened for the clipping, but my ears are not good enough. i can sense what you are talking about but it doesn't distract me at all, but my ears are not trained.
i just sit back & listen for vibe, energy & groove anyway. does it move me or not? i listen to lyrics, riff, beat, harmony, etc.
i do not pick up on the loudness & clipping unless i really focus & ignore everything else.

I ended up not buying it. I listened to a friends copy and when I realized that the sound quality is exactly the same as the downloads I decided to buy the new Volbeat instead.
I like the Deaf Magnetic album. The music is pretty amazing. I would love the album a lot if it was mixed properly.
Oh well. For 2 weeks I've been waiting for today in hopes that the retail copy would be fixed (like Metallica's management promised) but no such luck.
I wonder how much money they spent to have it mixed like it was done on a 4-track.

The mix is crap, but they finally remembered who they are. I would love to hear this properly mixed. The new Testament's production is slammin'. Something like that would be good.

In a column about Weezer's pathetic decline, I compared its fanbase to a battered wife. Metallica's remaining unconditional supporters are even more insanely resilient, like a straight girl sticking with her boyfriend after he sex-changed into a woman. Sane listeners understandably gave castrated post-op transsexual Metallica the boot. Now he/she/it's back, claiming to have experienced a change of heart and sporting surgically restored genitalia, but it's hard not to be haunted by the specter of its phantom vagina, especially when it's right there on the goddamn album cover.

The t-shirt is a bit Beavis and Butthead style... I like it...
Anyways, loving the new album... While the CD isn't mixed different from what I heard of the .mp3's the mastering is a bit more forgiving and I was able to get a good sound with an EQ

^^^ get over it? Yes they sure showed us with lying about the audio quality and releasing a FORCED album that sounds like shit. Yeah we are the ones who cant get over it hahaha
Its ok fangirl most of your boyfriends are embarrassed and left here due to this, all the hooting and hollering about how THE HATERS WILL SEE HOW GREAT THIS ALBUM IS.. Is all LONG gone now that the facts are out that the album is shit just like the asshole inspired cover would leave one to believe.
Keep fighting that good fight though its comical to everyone around here watching you try SOOOO hard to convince people this album is worth ANYTHING.
I shit you not generation records has 3 $1.99 used versions of this album in the used bin. Have fun defending it.

We get it already, you're a dipshit that has nothing better to do with his useless prepubescent time than repeatedly go into threads for a band that you do not like, for an album that you never were going to like no matter how good it was. Oh and another thing you pee on just because it's in a used bin doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad album or someone already sold it. I can go to the local Newbury comics and find just about any record in the used bin, and most of them a day or so after the release. They are what they call in the record industry CLEANS. CLEANS are promotional cd's without a scratched barcode or promotional markings. Employees at the store who are lucky enough to get these cleans can return them into the system and get money for them, sometimes even full price. The catch, the store can't sell them back into inventory so they usually open them and sell them as used. And the price of 1.99 means nothing when they're on sale for 5 bucks to begin with. Get a life you fucking moron!

The sound quality is fine? Sounds crisp, no distorted bass drum or anything.
I also have 2 100 watt Each Sony's and 2 75 watt each ancient guys backing those up. But it sounds great.
