AVENGED SEVENFOLD Guitarist Says Tour Was 'Shot To Pieces'

The Pulse of Radio reports that AVENGED SEVENFOLD was forced to cancel its U.S. headlining tour, slated to start on Tuesday (September 16) in Moline, Illinois, because singer M. Shadows was afflicted with what his doctors called "vocal fatigue." Shadows will need two weeks of rest and two weeks of rehabilitation, but no surgery will be involved. Still, guitarist Synyster Gates told The Pulse of Radio that no one was more disappointed than the band. "We were looking really forward to doing this tour with BUCKCHERRY, and we're big fans of the band and we thought it would be a great lineup," he said. "For the markets that we were going in, you know, we have kind of a mutual fan base throughout there. And yeah, it was just really, really exciting, finally back in the States...and everything was just shot to pieces. So everybody's just hurtin' over here."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD will resume touring in mid-October in Japan. The U.S. tour, which also features SHINEDOWN and SAVING ABEL in addition to BUCKCHERRY, has been rescheduled and will now begin on November 4 in Caspar, Wyoming.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD has been on the road behind its self-titled 2007 album and is also promoting a new DVD/CD package called "Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough".

Awful wannabe Axl Rose-style vocals should not destroy your throat. At least last time it happened, he was screaming. Now he's just being a pansy. Get somebody in there whose voice isn't completely shot.

I feel bad for them. Sucks to have your band put on hold like that. And I am sure M Shadows is wondering whether this could end his career. Hate 'em or not, that would be the suck.

Not saying i'm a big fan. But all the people hating on these new bands kinda reminds me of when i was young. I first started listening to Slayer, Megadeth , Metallica...my older brother & his friends who were big into Priest, Maiden...they would call down thrash..called it crap...they couldn't sing, play....etc..etc...dejavu.

That's too bad. A Buckcherry/Avenged Sevenfold show would be cool.
But if I remember right they didn't plan on coming here anyway... so... serves em right!

Avenged Sevenfold is a amazing band. Relly, u might like something better than them but dont fucking talk shit about them. They have a good drummer, guitarists and bassist, (M. Shadows does sorta suck vocals). Good lyrics. very well composed songs. Catchy shit, alot betr than say cannibal corpse
