DUFF MCKAGAN On Strippers During GUNS N' ROSES Days
- Sep. 16, 2008
|
|
VELVET REVOLVER/ex- GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan is featured in a four-minute video clip on Channel Bee in which tells the story about GN'R once had plane trouble in Houston so they went to a local strip club. According to Duff, they ended up taking all the strippers on the plane to the next show in Salt Lake City. LOADED, the band formed by Duff McKagan (on guitar and vocals) after he left GUNS N' ROSES, will release a five-song EP entitled "Wasted Heart" on September 22 via Century Media Records. A new full-length album will follow in early 2009. The CD was produced by Martin Feveyear and will include such tracks as "Roll Away", "Forgive Me", "Sick", "No More", "Southern Girl", "No Shame" and "Translucent". A new LOADED song entitled "No More" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. In addition to McKagan, LOADED features drummer Geoff Reading ( GREEN APPLE QUICK STEP), bassist Jeff Rouse ( VENDETTA RED, ALIEN CRIME SYNDICATE) and guitarist Mike Squires ( ALIEN CRIME SYNDICATE). LOADED was formed in 1999 and has morphed several times, releasing two albums: 1999's "Live Episode" and 2001's "Dark Days".

As much as I love Guns, its true that the passing of Floyd's keyboardist being ignored is sacrilege.

I even sent in a new brief to Blabbermouth about his death minutes after it was announced and they can't find the balls to post it. Fuck them! Pink Floyd are known to be one of the most influencial bands of all time and I am sure 1,000s of metal bands would say that they were inspired by them. This is as big to me as someone from Sabbath or Zeppelin dying. Come on Blabbermouth this story is a bit more important than one of your 800 Metallica stories for the day.
RIP RICHARD WRIGHT! It saddens me that now it is 100% official there will never be a true PF reunion other than the Live 8 show. Everyone take a second of their time today and jam their fav Floyd song in tribute!

Duff has a tone in his voice that kind of hints "I was not responsible for all this shit". Very funny. He's always come off as a kind and sincere type. What's up with the punk rock patches on the jeans? Punk rocker at heart. He should hang with Hanoi Rocks or something...
Johnny Marr of the Smiths is also interviewed on there. His solo material very much resembles the work of Izzy Stradlin as of late. Anyone else notice this? Rhythm guitarists sing low with melodic riffs and chord changes.

Glad PF got together for the Live 8 show...that was a very special moment.

RIP Richard Wright. You will not be forgetten as a member of one the greatest bands of all time and a key contributor to some of the greatest music. You certainly never had a rep of being a bad guy at all. In fact, this must of meant you were quite a good guy. At this, I once again, say, RIP Richard.

it is too bad that this story doesn't rate on this website. I can't believe this story isn't relevant compared to a lot of the B.S. that is posted. I was able to see Pink Floyd on 6/14/94 at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis (now the RCA dome and soon to be demolished). It is one of my top 10 shows. Truly legendary!
