INFERNUS' Version Of GORGOROTH Rejoined By Guitarist TORMENTOR

GORGOROTH guitarist Infernus — who is involved in a legal dispute with his estranged bandmates over the rights to the group's name — has issued the following update:
"I am proud to announce that former GORGOROTH guitarist Tormentor has accepted my offer to rejoin the band in its new incarnation. As of today, Tormentor has the status of permanent member in the band, together with myself, Tomas Asklund [drums; DISSECTION] and Frank Watkins [bass; OBITUARY]."
The Gaahl-fronted version of GORGOROTH recently entered the studio in its hometown of Bergen, Norway to begin recording eight new tracks composed by King ov Hell (bass). Along with Gaahl, King and Frost (SATYRICON) on drums, the full recording lineup will include Teloch (guitar) and Ice Dale (guitar). ENSLAVED's Herbrand Larsen is once again producing GORGOROTH in the studio.
According to Gaahl and King, the Swedish appeal courts (Hovretten in Malmö) recently upheld the decision by authorities at Tingretten in the matter concerning Regain Records' unauthorized release of GORGOROTH's "True Norwegian Black Metal - Live in Grieghallen" album. Regain Records was once again found in violation of copyrights and agreements made with Gaahl and King and was ordered to cease distribution of this release.
"Live in Grieghallen" was released in June via Regain. According to a press release, the CD was recorded live at Grieghallen in Bergen, Norway by Eirik "Pytten" Hundvin and features Infernus on bass and guitar, Gaahl on vocals, and Garghuf on drums.

That the courts in question should abolish every dumb name I've seen mentioned so far, and assign each of them a slightly less nerdy one instead.
Legal dispute solved.
Honestly, I've been half-heartedly following the issue, and for guys that want people to take their "unholy darkness" and satanic/nature worship seriously... they all certainly whine and bitch like preteen girls.
And this is coming from a guy who loves black metal.
p.s. for anyone who's going to question my comment, sighting my dumb screenname... yes, you're very crafty. ha ha.

Infernus did the vocals before, I'm sure he can do them again. And although I love early Gorgoroth, he was an idiot for not trademarking his name and logo.

Is of a homosexual nature and a pseudo intellectual one at that. just because you come off as withdrawn,quiet and anti social doesn't make you smart. King...now he is the real deal. He's written a good amount of their material since he's joined. King should go join Infernus and Tormentor, now that would be the real Gorgoroth. Also, bring Frost along to play drums!

Actually King only wrote Twilight of the Idols, Ad Majorem... and parts of Incipit Satan.
This is good news. Infernus and Tormentor together are a lethal combination when it comes to songwriting and chemistry on stage. Now if they could just get Pest back on vocals.

Infernus has been asleep at the wheel since Incipit. I'll listen to what they might put out, but the Gaahl/King band is where I expect the action to come from. Since those two started writing the material, Gorgoroth's music has been progressing, rather than spinning in neutral.
Frost on drums and Ice Dale on guitar? Hell yes.

I think Tormentor rejoining Gorgoroth is a definite plus. I heard he was helping Infernus with the arrangements before he rejoined the group. Shows you his involvement already.
Like most of you though, I will probably buy both albums (albeit if the court hasn't made up their mind by next year) mainly to see what the differences are going to be between the Gaahl and King version of Gorgoroth and the Infernus version of Gorgoroth.
I can predict that the Gaahl and King version will sound like the last two albums, while the Infernus version is going to feel like a more Melodic Black Metal piece (i.e. early Gorgoroth and Dissection).

here's a solution to their little name debacle one side should name themselves Plateau of Gorgoroth and the other Ered Gorgoroth if they love tolkien so much this would be more accune to the books none the less gorgoroth does rule and i will enjoy hearing bothsides

For some reason people seem to actually be on the fence about this situation. Gorgoroth belongs to Infernus! He started the band, he played on every release from the first demo until the last album, is the only remaining original member(and has been for a long time), and has written more lyrics, and music for the band than anyone...true, he is a dumbass for not tradmarking the band himself, but that doens't somehow make Gaahl and King the rightful owners of something they had nothing to do with from the beginning...SUPPORT INFERNUS AND THE TRUE GORGOROTH!!!
DO NOT SUPPORT GAAHL AND KINGS FAKE BULLSHIT!!!
