PSYOPUS And F**K THE FACTS: Another METALLICA Cover Available
- Sep. 22, 2008
Every Friday on the current Grinding to Cataclysm tour, PSYOPUS and FUCK THE FACTS team up to rock out to a classic METALLICA cover. The third such clip — "Blackened" — has been posted exclusively on Metal Injection (see below). Also available are the previous clips from the tour.
PSYOPUS recently announced the addition of vocalist Matt Dalberth (BURN EVERYTHING) to the group's ranks. The band's as-yet-untitled new album was recorded between July 20 and August 16 with engineer Doug White at Watchmen Studios in Lockport, New York.
PSYOPUS's most recent CD, "Our Puzzling Encounters Considered", was released in February 2007 via Metal Blade Records.
FUCK THE FACTS' new album, "Disgorge Mexico", was released on July 22 (July 28 internationally) via Relapse Records. The initial tracks for the LP were laid down in August 2007 at Liverpool Court Studios in Ottawa with producer Craig Boychuk. The band recorded the vocals in November 2007 at its own home studio. The LP was mixed and mastered by Craig Boychuk in Winnipeg between December 2007 and March 2008.

Lockport NY has a great history of metal and hardcore music. Early 90's hardcore used to take place at Kendzie's in LP. IND and Redline....Matt Torre RIP, good place.
Coincidentally, the overturned snare and no solos was a staple of that early 90's hardcore. Metallica does it 10 years later and gets crushed for it.

I don't know about anyone else, but watching that made me pick up my bass and pound away way before it got to the end. Let's not forget the fire that those songs still bring, regardless of who is playing them and where, and how integral they are to the music we love.
It's stuff like this that reminds me of why I love metal so damn much.
EVERY Friday should be Metallica Friday. Great thing that these two bands are doing!
for those of you who are not contented with the DM sound...go fuck yourselves in hell...its not necessary for you to talk about the sound...its their way and we have to respect that like the way they respected their fans in bringing the old school sound again after all their flops

If they respected their fans, there would have been no flops. All they respect is $$$.

I love these anti-grind slipknot fans that are all like "grind is stupid, wah wah" all pissed off because they don't want to admit that there are heavier/crazier/overall better bands than slipknot ever will be. LEARN HOW TO LISTEN TO MUSIC!
