AC/DC's BRIAN JOHNSON And Wife BRENDA, Sarasota's Rock Royalty - Sep. 24, 2008
Jennifer Shea of HeraldTribune.com reports: Brian and Brenda Johnson, Sarasota's [Florida] rock royalty, are on the cutting edge of redefining the colloquialism "party like a rock star."

The new definition? A laptop, couple of bikinis for the petite green-eyed Brenda, stereo system for Brian, a coffeemaker and an Airstream RV to park at Turtle Beach Park campsite.

Brian Johnson, lead singer for the phenomenally successful rock band AC/DC, will kick off a tour of North America, South America, Europe and Asia in October to support his new album, "Black Ice".

For a Hall of Fame legend like Johnson, touring equals insanity.

Brenda, band manager to budding rock groups BAD SARA and 7 YEARS PAST, is the most thoughtful of spouses. She tries to simplify Brian's life during AC/DC tours.

Warning: If attending weddings or work function xmas parties, you will witness your grandparents, super square uncles, bosses, and gossipy American Idol watching co-workers screaming out the lyrics to “You Shook Me All Night Long” (and possibly Back in Black) at every single one of these events. All teeny bopper party mixes also will include these songs.

AC/DC = Novelty Act.

I remember an old friend hearing Back in Black (when it was new!) and after 'You Shook Me All Night Long' saying, "That is the Bob Seger song on the album".

They have become a novelty act. That is a shame. No matter how good the new album is, the fans will want to hear two hours of best hits. They were a power in rock-n-roll...say till 1983?

Flick of the Switch was the last great album.
