SCARS ON BROADWAY, the collaboration between SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan, has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"SCARS ON BROADWAY's North American tour, scheduled to begin October 19, as well as their October 14 performance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', have been cancelled. Late last week, Malakian concluded that his heart wasn't into touring at this time, so he made the decision to cancel all scheduled performances. There are no plans to reschedule."
SCARS ON BROADWAY sold just under 24,000 copies of its self-titled debut album in the United States during its first week of release to debut at position No. 17 on The Billboard 200 chart. This number represented roughly 36 percent of the 66,000 opening tally registered by "Elect the Dead", the debut solo effort from SYSTEM lead singer Serj Tankian, which came out last fall through the Warner Music Group.
"Scars On Broadway" has shifted just 56,000 copies in the United States since its July 29 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Italian news blog Musica Metal recently uploaded video footage of SCARS ON BROADWAY performing the song "Universe" (see below) on September 2, 2008 in Milan, Italy. Photos from the concert can be found at this location.

Scars were absolutly fantastic in Glasgow a few weeks back, far far better than Serj was just a few days before hand.

...practice what you name preaches. Learn to spell too. Nothing dumber than someone who can't spell their "wanna-be" cool name right. I digress though, you see it on blabber'm more times than not. That's sad.

That is the most UN-"hetro-penis owner" thing I've heard from a musician of this caliber in a long time...

I guess if you want to compare which is better (serj vs scars) I would have to go with scars too; but in all honesty... Both suck.

It's great to be rich, where you can do as you please.
But money doesn't buy respect.

it's so silly the way both bands sound like SOAD, and both feature SOAD members, but because darren needs time apart from serj, they release music that sounds just like SOAD but isnt...
That made sense. I think. Anyway, they should just all throw in the towel or bring SOAD back.

'heart wasn't into it"? What kind of bullshit excuse is that? I was looking forward to this show. When you start a new band you have to start from the BOTTOM Shit, Black Light Burns have been touring to no people, it's how you do it. There must be more going on here...
Anybody who knows a little bit about Daron should be able to come to the conclusion that he would rather stay home to smoke weed and play guitar, living off residual SOAD money.

what an asshole.
he loses all respect and credibility now.
guess he doesn't care about fans.

Apparently they are planning a new tour with Brian 'Head' Welch. The plan is to play VFW halls and Rollerskating rinks.

Thank god. Maybe they'll cancel playing music too? One can only hope.

I am gonna burn 20,000 of my pirated copy of your album and hand them out because I'm not "INTO IT" anymore. Your ass is never getting another dime from me. YOU SUCK YOU ASSHOLE. Thanks for the memories. Now I will proceed to wipe my ass with this ticket.

Maybe you should hold on to that ticket and get your money back instead.

Plus, people have their own lives to think about too.
It's not always just about the fans just because you're a musician...

the record company must be stoked that they gave him an advance
why live on a bus and get lame blow jobs from groupies and smoke shitty weed while you can cash ascap checks and fill your prescription and fuck pornstars back home in Cali?
by the time system gets back together Darons receding hairline will have turned into a completely inversed mohawk.
S.O.B. IS better than Serj's stuff however, surprises me it "tanked",

That statement is hard to believe, `heart problems´? Mmmmmm, suspicious. Maybe people are right, they don´t want them and ticket sales are low. We want SOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much better than SOAD... Anyone wishing that band would get back together, are you retarded? What? Do you want Union Underground to get together, too...? Oh, I forgot, a bunch of people on the site were excited to see that Spineshank were together again, so there is my question answered...
Anyhow, I did not expect to like SOB, at all, given the member's previous band... I ended up hearing it, and being pleasantly surprised, and I did see them at Coachella, and they were good... I would never have thought, but yeah, I find myself a fan, theirs is one of the more enjoyable albums I've heard, this year.
As far as not wanting to tour, that sucks for the people who have bought tickets already, it is terrible when a show you are looking foward to get done in, I have been there many times... SOB were not coming to my town, though, so I am looking on with non biased (sp?) eyes... Touring is hard, ask anyone who has actually been on one, a long one, I have... Not one with alot of money pumped into it, but a few really long ones, and the fact is that if you are not into doing it, at that moment, the shows will suffer, and that will cost you more fans...
So, I am sorry to see that they did this, at the eleventh hour, but had they gone out now, it may have been worse, it may have cost them the band, and be real, everybody would have been on here saying that they were terrible, blah, blah... They suck, this and that, had they been on tour. You have to be on your game, to do a tour... Everybody knows if you are out there fakng it.
Everybody.

I´d need to check SOB out though, but I can´t stand just Daron´s voice. I have listened to one song and it says nothing special. And I´m not retarded, to listen something similar to SOAD I prefer the original, BUT I could combine the whole of the 3 bands (SOAD, Serj and SOB) judging the albums by themselves, not comparing them. The one that sounds fresher and different is Serj´s band. About the other reunion bands, I couldn´t care less.

Daron is arguably the best songwriter in rock and metal today. Hope he works out his issues.
