FACECAGE To Open For SOULFLY In Des Moines
- Oct. 10, 2008
Des Moines, Iowa-based metal band FACECAGE will open for SOULFLY on November 24 at People's Court in downtown Des Moines. Also scheduled to appear are INCITE and BLEED THE SKY.
Commented FACECAGE: "We are absolutely stoked to have been offered the opportunity to open for such a great band. The entire lineup is heavy metal at its best. This show marks the first in a long line of great things happening for all of us here in FACECAGE, including all of you, the fans. The heart and soul of this band has always been the amazing supporters who have stuck with us through the years. We will never stop bringing you the best metal the Midwest has to offer. This is going to be an incredible show, and an amazing opportunity for metal fans in Des Moines to finally have a real show right here in town."
FACECAGE's last album was produced by SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor and he has reportedly been working with the group on their new CD, tentatively due in early 2009. Corey first worked with FACECAGE when he snapped them up for his Great Big Mouth Records indie imprint and produced the album "Facecage III".
FACECAGE was previously described by Taylor as containing "the heaviness of SEPULTURA, the groove of [BLACK] SABBATH, the dark melodies of the Midwest and the drive of one hundred bands from either coast." Said Taylor of the band, "I've seen them work very hard, go through various changes, pay their dues and become a great band over the years. I'm very proud of them. Success doesn't come without sweat."
"Facecage III" was recorded in Taylor's hometown of Des Moines, Iowa thoughout the fall and winter of 2005.
When asked about the final product, Taylor previously commented: "I think it's the perfect result of a tremendous band’s evolution from being in the basement with dreams to expanding, learning and honing their craft as an organic musical entity. In layman's terms, they kick ass like never before on this album." Taylor added, "There are so many great moments on this album that it's hard to pick out a single track. 'Weakness Inside You' has that epic feeling from top to bottom, 'Drill Bits' makes you want to drive your car into a fucking wall, and let's not even DISCUSS what 'Nothing But Contempt' makes me want to do!"

Stooping to new lows. FaceCage is horrible. Why can't they spend their time and money on a decent band. That's the problem, always regurgitating the same old tired BS.

Facecage is just plain terrible. Terrible music, terrible look (buckle pants..what the fuck, are these guys 13?) and they play nu metal.
And the bass player's tone SUCKS.
Do not support this band.

This band is for fat gothed out poseurs who like shitty 1998 riifs and clothing choices. Their singer is the duchiest fuck ever. Nice hair cut duuude. The skinhead band looks like they'd rather be at a clan meeting. Nu metal blows.
