Commented band co-vocalist Andrea Ferro: "In the past, we've been asked a million times about when we were gonna put out a band DVD. Truthfully, we never felt like it was a priority, and we didn't want to release something just because the market was asking for it. The 'Karmacode' tour brought us to many different places around the world for the first time and we managed to record some of those great, outstanding shows, where the interaction with the people was just magic. This DVD is a beautiful reminder of where we have been in the past three years with all our body, mind and soul."

DVD should be good!

Good band, seen them twice when they toured Aus with Megadeth last year.

I'm keen to hear the new album.

I mean ask again: Why the need to repeat the songs? The extra disc of Comalies does the same thing: of the 9 songs, there are 2 versions of Swamped, 2 versions of Senzafine, and 3 (THREE!) of Heaven's a lie!
It's been brought up here before how alot of older songs that people would like to hear are missing. They'd have more room for older songs if they didn't do so many repeats. Don't people prefer a little more variety?

Dont diss Amy Lee just because she gets radio play. I saw her and her band live twice and they were heavier and tighter than Lacuna Coil. I like Lacuna Coil and think that Christina is very dominant and a great vocalist, it's just too bad that their music is starting to sound the same.

Well Ive seen both Lacuna and Evanescence several times and they both suck.

Whats up with the corny outfits, they get those from Jack White? They look really un-metal.

Ever since The Gathering moved from Gothic Metal to trip rock, I have been listening more and more to Lacuna Coil, alongside those classic The Gathering disc Mandylion/ Nightime Bird/ IF then Else.

This DVD will get tons of rotation next to the Classic The Gathering's " In Motion" DVD and SwitchBlade Symphony's "Sweet Live Witches"

Instant first day purchase, Looking forward to this DVD

...If you think a band is "un-metal" because their outfit, you should just listen to "Cradle Of Filth" kind of band, that is more worried about their image than the sound, which really matters.
And still about your dumb comments, why see two bands several times, when you think they both suck?

Laura has a bigger nose (nothing wrong with that) and bigger boobs (definitely nothing wrong with THAT!). Lacuna Coil has better music, though.

Not too fond of trip rock? What do you think of Switchblade Symphony's 'Bread and jam for Francis', seeing how it is Trip Hop? I have all of their CDs and I think that's the best one. It's got that extra sometrhing that makes it unique.

Although I'm not condoning Hip Hop. I have no use for that.

Maybe I'll wait until I find the Lacuna Coil DVD used.

Yeah I am casual fan of "trip rock" the style of music the Gathering went from Gothic Metal to "trip rock" starting around the "If then Else" era of the band.

As far as Switchblade Symphony, i only have there "Serpentine Gallery " CD and the Live CD and DVD, but since you give "Bread and Jam for Francis" a high praise, I will check it out it is still in print, and still in stock with my local metal merchants.

I got into bands such as Switchblade Symphony, because I always wondered if there was a rock and roll version of bands such as 3rd and the Mortal, Pale Forest, Atrox (Norway), and Tactile Gemma. And Switchblade Symphony fit the bill better than anyone and everyone from "Shoegaze" alternative rock to "Dark Wave" alternative rock.

As far as checking stuff out, I always go to Amazon and read the customer reviews. 'The customer is always right'. I like the balance of opposing opinions. There are some who HATE 'Bread and jam' and would recommend 'The 3 calamities'. There are several somgs on that one that are very good, but personally that's my least fave. BJfF and SG get around a 9, whereas 3 calam gets a 6.5 or 7.

Ever hear of the 'Heavenly Voices' comps. on Projekt records? My brother had all that Projekt stuff. I stumbled onto 'Heavenly voices 3' and that is fantastic. Dark Wave/Ambient stuff. Female voices only. He had the other 2 HV comps. and I wouldn't sell him mine. The first 5 or 6 songs make it a perfect CD even though there are 17 songs. 3rd and the Mortal are on there.

No I do not trust general public reviews from anywhere, because of there myopic/ tunnel vision view of what there rating.

Detractors and Haters are allowed to rate O% and the fanatics are allowed to claim classic status 100%. I never saw the point of subjecting one's self to a genre, album or a group a person would hate, just to rate something a zero. That kind of person, I would not allow to cut my lawn, much less give me advice on music.

I do trust and respect, your comments though, I am not sure if you collect music the same way I do, according to authenticity of the artist to themselves, and not by genre/ sub-genres. Genres and Sub-genres are always fun in the beginning when there are no rules with the song-writing process, the stage before the clone acts, suffocate the originators, with over-flooding the marketplace, with mockery "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" knock-off/ rip-off products.

No I have never heard of that "Heavenly Voices" compliation series, but I will look for the one with the "3rd and the Mortal".

I am a big fan of the Edvardsen sisters, Anni Mari Edvardsen of 3rd and the Mortal and Monika Edvardsen of Atrox, and it was cool when they joined forces for the Tactile Gemma project on Seasons of Mist Records.

Actually I found Switchblade Symphony "Serpentine Gallery" because I was looking for the perfect companion peice to rotate between Pale Forest's "Exit Mould" and Tactile Gemma's "Tactile Gemma".

The same way Megadeth's "Rust in Piece", Testament's "The Legacy" and Cacophony's "Speed Metal Symphony" compliment each other.

Nowaday's my idea of a heavenly/ feminine (true GODDESS)/ ethereal timbre is Chibi from The Birthday Massacre, Hope Sandoval from Mazzy Star and Inara Geroge from The Bird and the Bee. Sometimes I am guilty of over collecting a sub-genre or songwriting idea/ asthetic, but artist must understand how important it is, that no two bands should sound the same.

But as far as female artist are concerned my favorite publications on that subject are Metalmaidens.com and SonicCathedral.com

I am not looking to collect everything with the metal or rock markeeting tag, I am always looking for those artist who understands the importance of being peerless and timeless. I will check out those compilations from Projeckt Records, and see if those artist are like-minded with what I trust and respect, ie, artist on Naplam Records Austria and The End Records.

I just picked up the Napalm DVD/CD 'Realm of Napalm' used for $4.99 today! Didn't know it existed. I do have some stuff by these artists (Battlelore, Visions of Atlantis, Leaves eyes, Midnattsol.

Some of the stuff on Projekt is male vocals which doesn't fit well for me in that kind of darkwave context - although there is a CD I picked up which I guess musically sounds a bit like Switchblade Symphony but the male vocals make it sound really different. They're cold and depressing - the band is called Ninth Circle. It's like they have this sterile sound. It's not on Projekt - I think it's on Ivy records or something.

I wouldn't trust everything I read from every customer reviewer on Amazon, but using discerment you can glean info you wouldn't find elsewhere. More than once I decided not to buy something based on a customer's review I found there. (that Riverside EP, and a recent expensive Hawkwind CD/DVD thing) Also I found stuff that I didn't know existed (Saxon's Live in the raw. A couple years ago I came upon Atrox's Contentum and it looked interesting but I wasn't sure if it would be worth getting. I looked on Amazon and based on the reviews I knew I had to go later to pick it up. And I was glad I did.

I remember when "The Realm of Naplam Records" came out..I am a fan of Sabine Dunser- era Elis, and was shocked when she died so young.

And it is the only video of Sabine Dunser in the world, the band Elis will stand behind, in terms of quality.

I mostly get my news from
SODMAG.COM - Sounds of Death Magazine
voicesfromthedarkside.de (for traditonal death metal)
truemetal.org/snakepit

And If I find something like a Darkwave band it is though a "guilty pleasure", the trouble with the subject matter is, as a metal fan I say GOTHIC HORROR metal is The Vision Bleak " The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey" and The Gothic Rock fans will say no way!, they hear NO Velvet Underground, The Jesus and the Mary Chain, or any of the bands in the GOTHIC ROCK BLACK BOOK or Nox Arcana in The Visions Bleak Sound.

The thing I like about "guilty pleasure" bands is they are supposed to be bands, you should hate, if you a member of one sub-genre or the so-called opposing sub-culture, but I know some artist just transcend all that genre bullshit. I learned that by listening to classical music for a decade plus, before I gave heavy metal a HONEST listen, back in 1980.

I say fuck the detractors on there negative comments on Lacuna Coil. The band took a huge risk and put out the music that they wanted, and so what if they upset the "Gothic Metal" purist.

Actually the band was always a band, who's music I got because they were in the Gothic Metal field, and became more relvant to me, ever since the Gathering, transformation into "Trip Rock" before that Gothic Metal before that atomspheric doom/ death.

Lacuna Coil's "KarmaCode" is there "If Then Else", where they transfrom into a timless metal gothic metal act in to a more alternative + Gothic Metal act, that will leave all the bands imitators and the poseurs, left behind in there music taste by at least 15 years behind the times.

The detractors on this are poseur morons assholes !!

Long Live Lacuna Coil and fuck the detractors !!!!!!!
