LARS ULRICH Says METALLICA 'Guitar Hero' Game Is Coming Soon - Oct. 21, 2008
METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has all but confirmed that an all-METALLICA edition of the Guitar Hero game will be out sometime next year. Responding to a fan question about the game Monday night (October 20) on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline", Ulrich stated, "I don't know how to say this any other way than the following… If I was in Las Vegas and I was a betting man, I would put some money on the possibility of a METALLICA Guitar Hero game surfacing at some point in the very near future."

A purported trailer for the Guitar Hero: Metallica game, which is apparently included on Guitar Hero: World Tour, can be viewed below.

When Guitar Hero: World Tour arrives at the end of this month, METALLICA fans will be able to play all 10 songs from the band's new album, "Death Magnetic", on the game as downloadable content. Among those playing along will be Lars Ulrich, who bought the game for his kids and told The Pulse of Radio why he's now a fan himself. "It works on a couple of fronts," he said. "It works on the front of sharing the experiences with your kids. It works on exposing your kids to music. And it also helps Dad a little bit, because all of a sudden Dad's in the video game, and that helps balance the perception of Dad when Dad spends a lot of time talking about doing homework and eating vegetables and all this other stuff, you know what I mean?"

Guitar Hero: World Tour is due out on October 26. It contains more than 80 songs from METALLICA, VAN HALEN, MICHAEL JACKSON, OZZY OSBOURNE, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, COLDPLAY, STING, and dozens more artists.

METALLICA also created a special "extended" version of a "Death Magnetic" track called "Suicide and Redemption" for playing on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. All 10 songs from "Death Magnetic" are available as downloadable content for Guitar Hero III.

METALLICA will kick off its first indoor North American tour tonight (October 21) in Glendale, Arizona. Ulrich told Billboard that the band intends to play at least five new songs a night in its set, rotating them so that all the tracks from "Death Magnetic" will be performed live.

Although I don't doubt the release of "Guitar Hero: Metallica", i doubt that this would be a trailer. My guess is that it will hit the stores in June.

While some metallica songs would be fun to play, (such as master of puppets)

I don't think I could stomach an entire game of them.

One of the cool things about guitar hero is that it's always included a wide variety of material for you to jam on.

Dude, do we have to do this again to every dipshit who blurts out "go out and learn how to play a real guitar", cuz I'm getting really sick of it

ITS JUST A FUCKING GAME

You don't play DDR to learn how to dance, you don't play Call of Duty to learn how to shoot people, and you don't play GH to learn how to play guitar.... its just a simulation, ITS HARMLESS FUN

you might as well tell people who play simcity to go become mayor of their local town

Seriously, Guitar Hero is an awesome way of getting the message of good music out to people. And if people wanna learn how to play guitar becuz they are inspired by this (like my friend did, now he is a multi-instrumentalist and can play guitar, bass, drums and saxaphone), then thats a bonus, but you don't see that, do you?

People like you need to get laid, ASAP
