Ahhh, this annoys the fuck out of me. Those that support an album first time round always get shat on by these special edition re-releases. I`m half tempted to just download albums from now on and wait for a year to buy them when these inevitable better editions come out.

SEE YOU THERE. I'LL BE FRONT ROW LIKE I WAS AT ICED FUCKIN EARTH AND INTO ETERNITY!

And yeah, why don't they just release it in 5.1 on the actual release day as opposed to a year and change later?

Dude, I saw this band on their second night of three in Salina, Kansas about two years ago. They were handing out autographed copies of all their cds, re-mastered in 5.1 surround sound. They told me, "Hey man, when our new cd comes out, don't buy it right away--only the suckers do that. Wait until we re-release it and start promoting it on Blabbermouth." Then they took me back stage where there was a bunch of fat Kansas bimbos in an orgy with the drummer from Iced Earth and the roadies from Into Eternity. Dude, that was the craziest night of my life. I need to buy a 5.1 surround sound system soon.

It is a great album in it's genre - truly epic and will be even more so in this format. But no, I am not buying it again. A band like this should release all of their albums in 5.1 to start with - why have an original release that is suddenly obsolete? Anyway, Romeo is a monster guitarist - quite literally!

Hello yes! And could everyone stop bitching about "having" to buy the album again? Noone is forcing you. And 5.1 mixes are expensive to make - they obviously needed some cash from the sales of the CD / live shows etc to finance it, and to see that there was a demand. These things don't just fall out of the air.

Personally, I also wish bands would release albums in 5.1 from the start, but with the way sales are looking nowadays I reckon it's doubtful, especially since not everyone has a 5.1 system.
