SLASH Comments On 'Chinese Democracy' Single; Audio Available

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash was interviewed earlier today (Thursday, October 23) by Toucher and Rich of the Boston radio station WBCN 104.1 FM. During the course of the interview, Slash had an opportunity to check out the new GUNS N' ROSES single "Chinese Democracy" for the first time and was asked to offer his opinion on what he heard. "That sounds cool," Slash replied, before adding, "It's good to hear [ Axl Rose's] voice, you know?!" To check out the entire interview in streaming audio format, go to www.wbcn.com. Slash recently spoke to the Artisan News Service about his upcoming solo album which is tentatively expected sometime next year. "I'm just at the very tail end of doing demos for it right now," he said. "So, I'll probably have about four more songs left to record in demo form and then in January go into the studio and actually start recording. Schedule permitting, because I've got VELVET REVOLVER stuff if we find a singer. So, it's sort of a juggling act at the moment." Although Slash didn't want to jinx anything by revealing any vocalists as of yet, it is rumored that his friends Lenny Kravitz, Sebastian Bach and Alice Cooper have initially committed to the project.

Even if they did runite it wouldnt be the same.
That era is long gone, whatever these guys do its always gonna be out of date. They didnt stand the test of time.
Just imagine a reunited Gn'r with a bunch of old menn on stage?
Whats that got to do with Gn'r?
Gn'r was a band with young energic, rebels who drank wisky for breakfast and cocain for lunch. A band of old men on diet drinking herbaltea is never gonna be Guns N' Roses.

Heard a copy of Chinese Democracy today, (the one that was leaked out). I hpoe it's not the offical one. It had way too many slow song on it. But there was a couple of songs that didn't sound too bad though.

I never thought I'd be one of those that DIDN'T buy the new METALLICA and I will probably take my sweet ass time before considering to get it and that new GNR too.
It's just not "my" band anymore, I mean I'll listen to the old stuff and I'll sample the new one, but I got my hands on other cool stuff.
Like, Seb. Bach's cd's pretty cool and yes, AXL's singing on 3 track, that's fine. I got Gojira, Amon Amarth, it's great!

Just reading all these news items of 'Guns 'N' Roses' make me want to puke. I just cant fathom Axl's over the top, inconsiderate ego that he has the cheek and audacity to put the G'n'R label on this record. Slash, Duff, Izzy, Steve, even Matt, Gilby and Dizzy made up 90% of G'n'R and the music. All Axl did was sing and to think he has the right to the name is just an outrage. Get over yourself you stupid prick.

I never said their music didnt stand the test of time I said THEY didnt stand the test of time. And they didnt. None of the members in Gn'r (current and ex) have managed to make any music that has had impact, since UYI I and II.
Also that greatest hits album that came out "a few years ago". The release year of that was 1994 If Im not mistaking.
But you guys just keep on financing Axl and Lar$ expensive habbits. :)

I love THE Guns n' Roses.
AFD, Lies, and UYI I&II are all we have left (and to some small degree TSI). As well as some old concerts and videos. It kinda pnags me to hear "Axl's new band" and soil the legacy.

I rather stay with my good ol' memories of GN'R than thinking of Botox filled Axl's lame new band. That's why rock stars shouldn't stay in their bunker for 15 years and then come back from nowere hoping their fans would be nice and make as if nothing happened.
