SCOTT WEILAND Backs BARACK OBAMA For President

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/ex-VELVET REVOLVER singer Scott Weiland has released the following statement via his official web site:
"Barack Obama is the leader, the listener and the visionary with international respect to take us from the depths of where we are today and bring us to a new place where dreams are made; that place is called America. A long time ago, these same dreams, same visions brought us out of a similar darkness and united us together. More to come…
"It's our imperfections and our willingness to persevere that makes us stronger."
Weiland will release his second solo effort, "Happy in Galoshes", on November 25 through his own Softdrive label, with a single called "Missing Cleveland" headed to radio two weeks earlier. The vocalist plans to hit the road behind the new disc in January.

Obama is a constitutional scholar who, unlike the governor, knows what the fuck the proper role of the vice president is. Obama studies the issues. Obama knows what the Bush Doctrine is. Obama can out-debate John McCain 3 for 3. Obama has the miltary strategy in Iraq and Iran diplomatic strategy that Bush just adopted in recent months.

I think its hypocritical to bash Palin's lack of experience but not criticize Obama's. Is she ready to be Pres. on day 1? Probably not. But even if Obama is (and Im not so sure of that)...is he THAT much more ready? I'll give him credit...he knows how to run a great campaign (and that shows leadership) and obviously he has a very experienced team of foreign and economic advisors. But other than that...hes a 4 year Senator come Jan 2009. And people say McCain had the audacity to choose Palin, given her inexperience....well what about Obama's audacity TWO years ago to think hes qualified to be Pres. when he was only a Sen. for 2 years? Yeah, hes learned alot since then about foreign affairs and the national/international economy, but still...it wasnt a *guarantee* hed have a good grasp on it back then.
To everyone bashing Republicans for supporting McCain. Are you also bashing your own relatives if THEY are Republicans and supporting McCain? Yeah, didnt think so.

I think it's ironic how now even Mcain is trying to reign in and correct his rabid dog supporters. I think maybe he's just realized the kind of fear mongering rhetoric his party has been pushing these last few years.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing Obama as president. I'm fairly optimistic about it... : )

Obama isn't concerned about us. It's all about him. He's not concerned about America making history, he's concerned about making history himself. It's a "personal journey"...it's not about you and me.
I can't wait until he IS history. I'm tired of seeing his face and the nonsense he's spewing. He can caution his supporters to not get complacent all he wants...he's smug and he thinks he's won it. I hope what a lot of people on here have said before is true: the silent majority will do the right thing here.
We need change, that's true. But is he the change we need? I'd rather roll the dice and see who steps forward in another 4 years. I'd rather have a proven leader who's put his country before himself his whole life for the next four years, not someone who's going to take us down a path that will take a lifetime to recover from. A democratic congress and president? For that reason alone, I'd vote for McCain. Where will the checks and balances be? Democratic ideals will run amok. I'm neither a democrat or a republican. I say bring back the BULLMOOSE party! I"m voting for common sense here, not who has the better smile.
