Being a drummer myself there's alot of "shaking of the head" with this drumming performance. Lars' playing is putting the whole band out - it's fortunate James, Kirk and Rob are quality musicians that can recover quickly.

Control the beat, control the tempo. Back to basics please, Lars.

Good thing is the energy they're exerting, that's off the scales. That aspect is awesome and keeps me really excited for when they (hopefully) tour down under next year.

Faster than the album version and also in a lower key so James wouldn't struggle too much on those high notes...

I liked it, though.

please stop it. Sadly this could have been saved if two decades ago John Bush said yes when offered the posistion of Metallica singer. If your curious as to what that would have sounded like look for Anthrax's cover of Phantom Lord

They are changing the songs, now they play `Blackened´, that´s good. If they leave out `Nothing else matters´, `Enter sandman´, `Seek and destroy´ and `Cyanide´ and they put `All nightmare long´, ´Judas kiss´ or any other ones like `Sanitarium´ or `Shortest straw´, `For whom the bell tolls´ to finish for example, and the result would be awesome.

That clip has got me super-psyched for the show on Saturday! I am disappointed in a tape playing the beginning of the song, though. I think that song would be even more intense if they were on stage for the whole song, played the first few heavy riffs, and had Lars hammering those first gunshot beats. Just nitpicking. They are back!

The last time I heard No Remorse was the oping slot for Ozzy with Burton in the band!!!! Looks like about half the set was different from the first night. Fuck if they do that, I'll be hitting Charlotte and Greensboro when they come.

Grobog-
Did it take you this long to figure out that Lars isn't a very good drummer?

Why are people surprised the track is faster live? Isn't that pretty common?

to the sheep that said death magnetic = flop, I don't think a 1 month old platinum record can be considered one.

Well? Lars has typically taken his time into getting a good groove but the rest of the band seems like they mean business.

I think as the tour progresses they'll get back into a proper tempo, They need to adjust themselves to the US fan base again after a few years away from them.

The crowds in the US are crazy, but the crowds in the US aren't really allowed to get as obnoxious and out of control as the Europeans and those elsewhere around the world due to all the regulations our arenas have to follow.

Metallica's on fire, I just hope having bands that are on par or in some respects better than them live will light a fire under them to keep them on their feet.
