LINKIN PARK Working On Concept Album - Oct. 28, 2008
LINKIN PARK frontman Chester Bennington has told Billboard.com that the band is planning "a concept record" for its fourth album, which the group will start recording in early November. Bennington said, "[we] never envisioned ourselves doing a concept record, but we see an opportunity to do something really cool so we jumped on it, and we'll see how it comes out. I think it's a challenge and we'll see if we can rise to the occasion."

According to the singer, LINKIN PARK has already started writing music for the follow-up to last year's "Minutes to Midnight". "If we're writing a song with a specific purpose you're allowed to step out of the realms of commercialism a little bit," he explained. "You don't want to dilute that purpose with something that doesn't have anything to do with it, which is really interesting."

How about an album that is so bad that not even commercial radio will play it. It would be nice if this awful awful band finally disappeared back into the pile of festering garbage they crawled out of.

A BOYBAND who plays nu-metal decide to make a new album, without getting lumped in with the other boybands?????

I'll admit I liked their first album. Second was eh, third was probably the worst of all of them. I'll check this album out, so I hope it's more like album numero uno.

I agree-- I hate nu metal but I was shocked at how good their first album was. Their second album was a huge dropoff however, and I haven't really bothered to listen to the third. Who knows-- maybe a concept album from them could be interesting.

[By the way it's spelt Soldier, you cock]

and Linkin Park took their name for Minutes to Midnight from the concept of the Doomsday Clock, the one that says eventually the world is going to end, and based on the events in the world, how soon, every minute closer to midnight is a projection of the possibility in years the world may face destruction.

Iron Maiden took it from the scientists who came up with the concept, in 1949, retard.
And so did everyone else apparently.
Go look up the references of the Doomsday clock in American culture and you might wanna retract your statement, Nobody took it from Iron Maiden, Iron Maiden stole it to begin with, is all.

it'll be the story of a band who played rap metal when bands like Limp Bizkit were huge then switched over to a little more alternative rock when bands like Nickelback were on top and then went emo when that fad came to the forefront.

These mainstream bands should really stop trying to write concept albums because the songs don't mesh as well when you're trying to write hit singles.
