BLACK SABBATH-Inspired Shoes Released In Time For Holiday Season - Oct. 31, 2008
Trendhunter.com reports: To simultaneously honor the gods of heavy metal and commemorate the 100th anniversary of Converse shoes, the iconic shoe company will release three pairs of BLACK SABBATH-inspired shoes in time for the holiday season.

The first pair of Converse Chuck Taylors is inspired by the cover of BLACK SABBATH's 1972 album "Vol. 4". The second pair of Chuck Taylors features a distressed print to emulate an old, worn tour tee shirt, and is inspired by the design on an actual BLACK SABBATH 1978 World Tour shirt. The final pair is a leathery tribute to heavy metal, with purple accents on a black leather pair of Jack Purcells.

Wow... what's with bands getting into shoes these days? Slayer, Metallica, KISS, Sabbath, Ramones... really, it's kinda old, ya know? Besides, they discriminate against us rather large footed people...

Ozzy has full rights to the Black Sabbath name, so I think its either he or more likely Sharon who green lighted these. And you all know what big business people they are.

Iommi has always had rights to the name unless he lost them somehow in negotiations for the various reunion tours.

I was discussing this elsewhere and as far as I know Iommi does control it all.

The Volume 4s are decent, but would not likely buy unless I had money to throw away and happened upon them.

Because no one cares about the horned one. I've gotten black sabbath born again album cover minus the title black sabbath on the left part of my back. Big deal but at least I care, I think.
