PAUL DI'ANNO Comments On U.S. Tour Postponement - Nov. 12, 2008
Former IRON MAIDEN vocalist Paul Di'Anno has released the following statement regarding the postponement of his previously announced U.S. tour:

"Unfortunately, and due to reasons totally beyond my control, it now seems that the entire USA tour is gonna have to be rescheduled until another period during 2009.

"I am really really sorry to the many people who have already purchased tickets and made arrangements to get to the tour and I am well and truly pissed off that this has happened, but please bear with me until the whole thing gets resolved and I'll be seeing you there in the USA soonest. I'd also like to express my best thanks, gratitude and appreciation to Chuck and all at Artists Worldwide for all of their hard work and commitment."

According to Paul Di'Anno's booking agent, the singer's tour was postponed "due to a delay in the visa process."

Di'Anno's U.S. tour was scheduled to kick off on November 28 in Springfield, Virginia.

Paul recently entered the studio with German producer Deiter Roth to begin recording his new album for a 2009 release. Di'Anno stated in June 2008, "I have already fully recorded five of the songs in Germany (at Dieter's studio) and I will have the whole album finished by the end of this year. The album is very different to anything else I have ever recorded and I am so very excited about this album as it really is the business."

Di'Anno in 2006 re-released his 2000 effort, "Nomad", with a few tracklist alterations, under the title "The Living Dead" (Cleopatra Records). The package comes with a bonus DVD that contains the music video for "The Living Dead" and an exclusive in-depth, tell-all interview in which Di'Anno discusses his days with IRON MAIDEN.

Wow, didn't see THIS one coming!!

Why the hell don't bands get their visas in order BEFORE announcing, scheduling, and selling tix for a tour? Seems to me it's become a cheap and easy way to bail on a tour that's not selling- "visa problems" is the current version of "the dog ate my homework."

as someone with a history of difficulty entering the US, maybe he should try ironing out his visa issues BEFORE scheduling shows.

wrathchild doesn't sound that good. he should try a little harder to sing it like the original version and not like an ass, since that song is what 90% of the people are showing up to hear.

But I wasn't surprised to hear it it's not going to happen...I was hoping to see Paul play a club near me. I'm hoping he can get things "ironed" out and get over here early next year \m/

Dude...did you forget that you are a convicted FELON?

fight with girlfriend involving a knife
cops arrive
cocaine found by cops
firearms found by cops
felony conviction (guess you weren't famous enough in L.A. to get away with it)

U.S. govt will not allow convicted felons (whom are not citizens) to return to the US.

When was this a suprise?

Perhaps he hoped that having an already booked US tour to show for would somehow increase his chances in the visa application process?

Either way, this guy's been proudly riding the coattails of Iron Maiden since 1981.

Go start an "all-former-star" band with fellow coattail-riders Neil Turbin and Al Atkins or something. Personally, I don't give a shit.
