SEBASTIAN BACH Working On Full-Length Country Album - Nov. 14, 2008
Former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach has issued the following update:

"Greetings from Nashville, Tennessee! We have been completely ensconced in the studio here for the last week, woodshedding in a big way, writing and demoing our asses off. I am happy to say that the writing team of Jeffrey Steele, Vicky McGehee, and myself, the team that brought you 'Battle With The Bottle', have been been locked in Jeffrey's studio, with our intention being to come up with a full album sometime in the near future.

"Since the ending of 'Gone Country 2', we now have between 10 and 15 songs 'under construction,' and we will not stop writing/demoing until we all feel we have a killer record. We all love the song 'Battle With The Bottle', but that is only the beginning. We are in the midst of assembling a whole new 'team' down here in Nashville that will be able to bring a song to the radio, which we did not have at the time of filming 'Gone Country 2'.

"Hey, you don't have to ask me twice to make music!

"I am so very fortunate to have met Jeffrey and Vicky, and the songs we are working on now are truly new and fresh for me as a musician. I really can't wait for all of you to hear this stuff! Here is a little taste [see video below]."

Host John Rich tapped Sebastian Bach as the winner of the second season of CMT's hit series, "Gone Country", in the September 26 season finale. Bach immediately released "Battle With The Bottle" to radio, the song he penned with Nashville songwriters Jeffrey Steele and Vicky McGehee while taping the series. The song is produced by John Rich.

Bach, who edged out tough competition from fellow "Gone Country" contestants Mikalah Gordon, Jermaine Jackson, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lorenzo Lamas and Sean Young, performed his song before a live audience at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon in the show's finale. In the end, Rich dubbed Bach the winner because of his ability to connect to his audience and his lyrics, something that is essential in country music.

Sebastian Bach will "jam" with John Rich and Cowboy Troy on December 10 and December 11 in Las Vegas at the Hilton Theatre.

CMT recently posted a two-part interview with Sebastian Bach where he fields some of the country music fans' "craziest" questions. Watch it at the following links:

Best of luck to Baz on this.

don't give baz any ideas... although he didn't win that rap show, we don't need him revisiting rap...

ironic how he bashed the last skid row record (granted, the disc blows... the first one with baz's replacement seems like abbey road compared to it), but now he's turning around and doing country himself... at least he's doing it with guys at the top of their game in the genre...

There is actually a great deal of musicanship and songwriting ability that goes into making country. If Sebastian can pull it off, all the power to him. Though I'd rather he made a metal cd, at least he isn't rapping (that would be far worse!).

Love how this is sounding. I couldn't give a stuff if it goes under the label of 'country', 'rock' or anything else. It's another killer ballad to my ears and Sebastian is the master of them.

Don't get hung up on labels people. It's far too limiting when you're dealing with creativity in any area of art. Who knows what you might be missing out on if you let someone else's view of what 'type' of music it is dictate what you listen to!

There really isn't a market for this record. This isn't going to go over with the country crowd because of his rocker background and no self respecting metalhead will pick this up.

So you're saying everone is too brain-trained into only liking what's said to be in their own particular market bracket and no longer listen to and judge music with their own heart and soul? Sad.

Snowy White is correct. Remember when Garth Brooks did his "Chris Gaines" rock cd? All his country fans knew it was him, but didn't buy it because it wasn't country music.

I'm not saying Snowy White is not correct. I'm just saying it's sad that loving music has become this segregated type of attitude, all music being put in these little boxes, especially for metal heads. Metal used to be all about having the courage to be different, going outside the box to follow your passion.

-- that's why I'm defending what Sebastian Bach is doing because, in my opinion, he's 'metal' through to his soul. The 'metal' -- his passion -- comes through in everything he sings, regardless of what genre it's supposed to be. Even the bloody rap. That I wouldn't run out and buy, but anything he sings with that killer voice that expresses the incredible passion he has, he's got me. And I really don't care if that no longer earns me the name of 'metal head'. Big bloody deal.

My taste in music ranges from The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel to Motorhead and Iron Maiden, and lots in between. When Paul McCartney did a couple of classical cds recently, i wasn't interested. Again, that's just my taste and decision. I certainly respect the right of any musician to try something new and different.

I appreciate you saying that. Your taste in music is actually broader than mine.

My preference is basically for metal, especially the big power ballads. But, as I explained, that's why I'm open to anything Sebastian Bach puts out because the metal that's in his music is stamped on all of it in some way or another. He just doesn't seem able to do any form of music without the metal that's in his heart being in there in some way. And I'd say it'll be the same with this country album, for good or bad.

And that's why I think anyone that loves a great metal voice should at least be open to giving this album a listen. You can hear just from the snippet that's in the video above that it's NOT going to be just plain old, boring country music.

grat singer and Angel Down was great metal albu, much heavier and better then Death Magnetic for example. but its ok for him to make different kind of music, why not???? it doesnt mean he's quitting rock/metal. i just hope he will make a new metal album soon also.
and by the way Frameshift 2 album was great, it would be great if he would make another album with that Swede. an dhow can he be a falling star when he's selling more records then most of the bands here on blabbermouth???? ok he's not selling millions anymore but so what??? he's having fun and selling some records and making a nice living i think so good for him

how disgraceful to try to tap that god-fearing market when your metal record doesn't sell and you fail to reunite or secure a high-profile frontman gig. country is against everything rock stands for.

blind fans will see it as branching out but it's really one of the most desperate sellouts ever. the broadway thing was somewhat tolerable but this crosses the line. he will do ANYTHING to stay popular.
