GUNS N' ROSES: Audio Samples Of Entire 'Chinese Democracy' Album Available - Nov. 18, 2008
Dutch retailer vanLeest has posted 30-second samples of all the tracks that appear on GUNS N' ROSES' new album, "Chinese Democracy". Check them out at this location.

The song "Better" off "Chinese Democracy" received its world premier yesterday morning (Monday, November 17) on a number of U.S. stations, including Q104.3 FM, which is currently streaming the track at this location.

"Chinese Democracy" will be released in the U.S. on November 23 exclusively through Best Buy. The 14-song set will be available on CD, vinyl, and as a download. While singer Axl Rose has remained silent, co-managers Irving Azoff and Andy Gould said in a statement, "The release of 'Chinese Democracy' marks a historic moment in rock n'roll. We're launching with a monumental campaign...that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself. GUNS N' ROSES fans have every reason to celebrate, for this is only the beginning."

One new song, "Shackler's Revenge", debuted on September 14 through the Rock Band 2 video game, while another, called "If The World", can be heard in the new film "Body of Lies".

"Chinese Democracy" is the first album of new material from GUNS N' ROSES since 1991's "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II".

unlike say...Sebastian Bach that has to be all over the place(and nothing wrong with that)^
but
its not the way of the Rose.

think of AXL and his music like the band TOOL,
It will sell millions and have hard core fan base forever.

The album is horrible. Believe me, I wanted Chinese Democracy to be amazing.. but this poor excuse for Guns N' Roses is just laughable. All traces of grit, boogie and balls have been stripped. What is left is a toiled-over mess of modern rock hooks, badly done ballads, lame samples and Axl's worn-out shriek.
How it took so long to produce such a mediocre record, I have no clue. This is NOT Guns N' Roses. Not at all. Nothing even reminiscent of Guns N' Roses.
It's just a mish-mash band with "that Axl guy" wailing incoherently on top of it all.

how could it be reminisant of GnR, there are NO members left. Its a solo project, gnr name only. again, that's not saying its bad, it still may(or not) be good. It aint GnR. GnR were different players, I dont care if Bucketfeet is better or not, he's not the same player. Axl Rose is not GnR(well, legal he is I guess).

There's no way you were going to get hard rock J.Tree or Back in Black. No diss on Axl, but no one's released an epic album, their masterpiece, in their mid 40's. Look at rock history. Not to mention, his magic was with OTHER musicians, that simply can not be replaced!! No one gets that. I don't care if Buckethead can shred around circles around Slash/Izzy, its simply not the point. That was GnR's magic, their rough & ready rock, the fact the DIDN"T shred, they were an anti shred band, that made them stand out, along with their Stonesy rock....again, before the Axl freaks get out of control, he can still release a great album for sure, he's creative on his own for sure....and I guess that's what people expected waiting 17 years. Over scrutinizing rough rock makes it sterile, sucks the life out of the realness, no urgency. If this were a true band, not a solo CD, the other members would have said "the song's DONE, time to release, rock, tour, rinse, repeat.

The cackling on most of those songs is fucking annoying as hell. Even if they music was good, the vox blow and since Axl is the only original member left, that means he single handedly ruined one of the most influential rock bands of the late 80's and early 90's.

Even if the album is GREAT, he ruined one of the best bands ever, that band is dead. A reunion, while fun, is too late to produce great rock anymore either, their prime is OVER!...Axl sings so different now too, this high pitch way of reaching the notes, while it doesn't sound as scratchy, its sort of phony sounding, like he was taught a new method to sing high in older age....THis is a AXL ROSE album. I'm blown away people think its GnR without the main players, can you imagine the great bands without their key guys? Its not the same band. He doesn't even retain these new guys, they are faceless. Slash & others were more than players, they were the face & attitude of the band. The image. IT CAN"T BE replaced...and I can listen to Axl's Album & enjoy, but not deluting myself thinking its GnR. Plant should have fired Jimmy Page in the 70's, got Eddie VH. Its not the same band anymore, different creative juices.

Sadly, Chinese Democracy isn't very good. There are good moments, like the chorus of "I.R.S.", the musical arrangement of "Sorry", the bridge of "Shackler's Revenge", opening riff of "Chinese Democracy"and some parts of "Street of Dreams" and "Scraped." But only one full song that knocks your socks off -- the ballad "This I Love." It's a really haunting & romantic piano ballad, evocative of Andrew Lloyd Webber, ending with a very good guitar solo (nothing close to SCOM or Nov. Rain, of course). It's the kind of song I can see being played at High School Proms in a few years. It's also the only song where Rose's lyrics resonate and match the music.

But that's it, and poetic. Because we all know Axl seldom contributed any full great songs to GN'R except for the piano ballads. He heavily relied on Izzy & Slash on the rockers. Their contribution is sorly missed on this album. . . .

How many times do we have to hear the same BS from the haters in here. This album is going to be huge. It is going to make Black Ice an afterthought, in spite of AC/DC's worldwide popularity edge. Axl Rose band? What difference does it make, he is and always was Guns N Roses.

Just phenominal. A great mixture of hard rocking ripping Axl vocals, along with some in between industrial style rock, and a few ballads to keep all the girls and soft hearts happy (By the way, there are actually girls at Guns N Roses shows, and a lot of them, unlike most of the Metal bands that some of these haters obsess over, which is simply a sausage festival most of the time).

In a world where the single rules, this album will go to show that the era of a great album is not in the past. Hopefully, it will help rid the radio waves of some of the weak, modern, cookie cutter bands like Nickleback, Hinder, Puddle of Mudd, and Saving Abel, and while where at it, let's knock that cheap, Axl Rose imitator, Buck Cherry off the charts of real rock and roll.

But the previous leaks were better. The CD versions are ULTRA over produced. I'll prefer the demo of Catcher in the rye (with Brian May solo) to the album version any day.

What's the point in filling every song with, like, 8 different guitar layers, where 4 is enough. A superb song like Street Of Dreams also gets ruined. Too bad. But it IS a good album. An Axl Rose solo album, but yes a good one.

Trust me...I heard the whole thing today. Not only is it the letdown all sensible people knew it would be after this many years (nothing could live up to the hype), it is just piss poor from a songwriting standpoint. The best songs on the album are the ones you've already heard (and most people who are internet savvy have heard for years): "Chinese Democracy" and "Better". Other than that, every other song starts with piano, like Axl thinks the best thing he's ever done is "November Rain" and is trying to recreate that! Worse yet, a lot of the songs are actually going for some kind of top 40 cross over vibe, with lots of over production, and cheesy layered vocals. At it's best, it's Axl trying to be Queen. At it's worst, it's a guy who has too many "yes" men around him telling him the self-indulgent crap he's writing is good. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. IF YOU BUY THIS ALBUM, YOU WILL SIMPLY BE FEEDING INTO AXL'S EGO, and prolonging the inevitable: the original GnR reunion (at least the 4 in front of the drums). Like many others, my prediction is this album will sell a million just out of initial curiousity, then die quickly. Then we'll see the original GnR in 2010.
