P.O.D. Frontman: Pay No Attention To Rumors - Nov. 19, 2008
Spiritual rockers P.O.D. (a.k.a. PAYABLE ON DEATH) have announced the following South American tour dates:

Nov. 22 - Kazebre - São Paulo, Brazil
Nov. 23 - Master Hall - Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil
Nov. 25 - Bola De Neve - São Paulo, Brazil
Nov. 26 - Chevrolet Hall - Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Nov. 29 - Pavilhao De Parque De Cidade - Brasilia, Distrito Federal, Brazil
Dec. 02 - Teatro Novedades – Santiago, Chile
Dec. 04 - Auditorio G-12 - Bogotá, Bogotá (Distrito Capital), Colombia

In other news, P.O.D. vocalist Sonny Sandoval has addressed rumors regarding the band's future following the recent cancellation of the group's co-headlining tour of Europe with FILTER. The trek, which was scheduled to take place in January/February 2009, was reportedly called off because P.O.D. is unable to fulfill its touring obligations due to the band's decision to go on "hiatus."

Stated Sonny: "There are a lot of rumors flying around right now but please pay no attention to all of that. Just know that the P.O.D. boys are ALL GOOD and are looking forward to doing what we do best in South America and wherever opportunities may present itself [sic] in the future. Thank you for all your love and encouragement as we head out for the next couple weeks. Please keep us, our travels and our families back home in your prayers as we'll be gone through the holiday. With Thanksgiving around the corner, remember to be thankful for your many blessings and know that we are thankful for you."

P.O.D. sold 34,000 copies of its new album, "When Angels & Serpents Dance", in the United States in the LP's first week of release in April to debut at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band's previous CD, "Testify", registered a first-week tally of just over 54,000 back in February 2006 to land at No. 9.

"When Angels & Serpents Dance" features guest appearances from the MARLEY SISTERS, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES singer Mike Muir and HELMET guitarist Page Hamilton. The song "Kaliforn-Eye-A", which features vocals from Muir, allowed P.O.D. to collaborate with an "iconic punk rock figure that played an influence on us as a band," guitarist Marcos Curiel, who rejoined the band in 2006, told Billboard.com. "It's a more upbeat song about where we came from."

Curiel exited P.O.D. following 2001's "Satellite" (Atlantic), which has moved more than 3 million units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "We were at the height of our career and all of a sudden this big mess happened," the guitarist said, declining to give specifics about leaving the band. "It was just business."

...to any rumors surrounding "talent" or "musical ability."

They are greatly over-exaggerated.

There were rumors surrounding POD's talent and musical ability? I thought it was pretty well known they had none.

I'll admit I bought 'Satellite' and though it was pretty good, but now they're just horrible.
