GENE SIMMONS Confirms Plans For New KISS Studio Album - Nov. 28, 2008
KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has told Jane Stevenson of Canada's Sun Media that the veteran glam rockers are writing songs for a new album that he expects they will record next year and release next summer. KISS singer/guitarist Paul Stanley will produce the disc. The band will follow the album's release with a limited tour.

"We'll do a handful of shows just to keep in the game (next) summer, maybe 10 (dates), some Canadian shows," Simmons told the Sun Media. "I know Halifax is one, but before you get out there and start the baseball season, they hold exhibition games, that's what we're doing. 'Cause once we go out, it's going to be for a year and a half."

As for rumblings of a co-headlining tour with QUEEN, Simmons said, "Oh, I've heard that, but we don't know until it's real. I would be happy to step up on that stage. I'd (also) love to step up on a stage with the STONES."

its kinda funny that they are gonna do an album after all the times they denied that they would ever make another album but im glad they are. Atleast now maybe they can change up their set list. Im just not as excited about this as i would be if it was with the classic kiss line up.

I'd see em if they did a co-headlining tour with Queen + Paul Rodgers or the Stone, probably nothing else though. Just not as motivated to wanting to see KISS live anymore.

ill bet anyone right now that Kiss cant do a big tour of the USA on their own with just a avg opening act like ac-dc, VH did is doing. by big i mean at least 50 shows in the usa with 10-15k seat places selling out or at least getting very close to it. anyone wanna bet me? to the idiot that keeps defending Kiss's weak concert sales(with the expection of the first few tours of the reunion) try taking my bet. if you dont take it then STFU about Kiss's concert sales. i have the Kiss concert tour book that details all their tour info and most of their tours have sucked. lots of tours in the 80's barely made money. couldnt tour usa with unmasked or elder. creatures sucked bad. LIU sucked too just not as bad. Animalze did well. Crazy nights/ asylum sucked. just because the can cherry pick overseas places and do well doesnt mean they can brag about the tour. a tour isnt shit without a succesful USA leg with many dates. New CD? LOL now they care after seeing Metalica and ac-dc sales. if KIss couldnt sell shit of Psycho Circus, and thats when they were hot, wtf do they think sales will be for them now when theyre washed up?

The last studio album of original material was released in 1998. I think they have had plenty of time to come up with a few riffs. I'll bet Paul Stanley has a pile of ideas recorded.

I'm not the biggest Kiss fan in the world and I don't really care if they do a new album or not. They're gonna do whatever they think will make them the most money.........anyways, Kiss in Halifax!!!!! Looks like it could be another great year for concerts around here.

It is hilarious to read what some of you put on here. KISS gets bashed if they have the makeup on, the get bashed if they take the makeup off. They get bashed for not putting out new material & now that they are they get bashed again. You obviously have no clue. KISS is Halifax will be great, can't wait! 35 years later & KISS is still going strong, hope it pisses you all off!!

Wow you idiots bash Kiss all the time but yet they sellout every fucking place they play (small club or stadium), so I no longer think Kiss sucks, I think YOU SUCK! Yup, you stupid haters suck. I hope the new Kiss music will surprise us. Lets face it, AC/DC and GnR set the bar pretty low so Kiss should be fine.

kiss hasn't released any good music in well over twenty years.i expect the new disc will be the same.as far as a tour w/ the stones or queen, kiss would be making a huge ass of themselves simply because they have no musical talent & their not even in same league as these bands.when will these yahoo's realize that it's time to quit, they should have left well enough alone a long time ago.god bless the almighty dollar 'cause that's the only thing this band cares about.

on the Rock The Nation DVD during PARASITE that on the verses you hear Paul's vocals but He is nowhere near the microphone? Only on the chorus does Stanley come up to the mike. Makes me wonder if He's really playing the guitar.

I'm not looking forward to a new album unless it's by a band with the makeoff off. Parading Eric and Tommy around in Ace's and Peter's designs is sickening. Plus, Tommy copies Ace's moves on stage! Keep up that sick joke and I'm finished..hell I'm already there.

yes, the majority of bands do little overdubs. But KISS is SO VERY BLATANT about it, esp on this DVD. For it to be as obvious as hell with a vocal line(s) that He very well could have sang..only in the world of KISS. I guess He'd rather be shaking his ass than singing huh.

BTW I own all of the Dream Theater DVD's and I have NEVER SEEN THEM OVERDUB LABRIE'S ENTIRE VOCALS DURING THE VERSES. SHOW ME WHERE EINSTEIN. QUEENSRYCHE TOO.

Well I assumed he was talking about a tour here in the states. selling out large arenas outside the United States is like shooting fish in a barrell. Perfect example besides ki$$ is Axl rose's Gnr, which is why they dont tour the US.

every show KI$$ has played in Detroit beginning with the "Farewell Tour", have had 'buy 1 ticket, get 1 free" promotions.

Plus, when they played with Aerosmith, the stadium didn't fill up until KI$$ left the stage.....and more people were wearing 'Aerosmith' t-shirts than KI$$ shirts.

Think Tommy was quoted as saying the new CD will be called:
"SCABBED TO DEATH".

Wow...same comments from the same Blabbertwats that have posted their cut and paste yawners for years on this site. I'm going to ignore as much of it as I can so that I don't get pulled into making the same counter-points I have for years now.

I will say this to that spidernerd guy...KISS will do better business on their next full-fledged US tour than they have in years. Whoever's on the bill with them.

As far as the new cd...this is excellent news indeed. I do hope that Thayer and Singer get to have input on the project. That way we will truly have something by this lineup to judge it's merits on.

I love Queen too...but the "Queen and Paul Rodgers" lineup didn't draw as expected on their last tour of the states either. I have no issue with KISS touring with them at all...though I can think of several other possible bills I'd rather see.

Bottom line for this longtime fan...is that I'm just glad to be getting new music again. I hope the guys roll up their sleeves and make it as guitar heavy as possible. Can't wait...
