GEORGE LYNCH Jams With SMASHING PUMPKINS In Los Angeles; Video Available - Dec. 4, 2008
Legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB) joined the SMASHING PUMPKINS on stage last night (Wednesday, December 3) at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, California for a rendition of the song "Gossamer". Lynch was reportedly invited to play with the group by PUMPKINS guitarist Jeff Schroeder.

A short fan-filmed video clip of the Lynch/PUMPKINS performance can be viewed below.

George Lynch, Richie Kotzen (MR. BIG, POISON) and Paul Gilbert (MR. BIG, RACER X) are tentatively scheduled to join forces for a tour dubbed "Guitar Generation". The two-month trek is expected to launch around February 25 in Los Angeles. No further details are currently available.

LYNCH MOB is currently working on a new album, tentatively titled "Smoke And Mirrors", for an early summer release.

Lynch is a living legend. Nice to see Billy & SP let George jam with them.

But really cool to see that they would get together regardless.

The horns over the three guitars was overkill in my opinion, but Lynch's mad riffing and solos glided above all of that with relative ease.

I was at this show and it was sick. George played on the encore as well (i think that song is called I Am One Part Two). George actually lead the band during Gossamer for a good bit. Truly ripped shit up. Good stuff.

George Lynch just continues to desecrate himself. If this new Lynch Mob disc isn't phenominal, I give up...
