ROB ZOMBIE Confirmed For 'Halloween' Sequel - Dec. 16, 2008
Michael Fleming of Variety.com reports that Dimension Films and Rob Zombie are teaming for another chapter of "Halloween", tentatively due for release in October.

Zombie will write and direct "H2", the sequel to his 2007 reinvention of the John Carpenter horror classic. Production will begin in March.

The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted.

Read more from Variety.com.

"Halloween", a "re-imagining" of the 1978 horror classic, was Zombie's third film as a director and biggest hit yet, grossing $31 million in its opening weekend, more than his two previous films combined.

Zombie's next film was supposed to be "Tyrannosaurus Rex", about an aging wrestler battling a vicious motorcycle gang. But Zombie himself recently stated that he had not even written the script for the film yet.

More recently, Zombie has been recording his fourth studio album for a 2009 release and issued the song "War Zone" on the soundtrack of the new movie "Punisher: War Zone". The long-awaited boxed set from his previous band, WHITE ZOMBIE, called "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie", came out last month.

John Carpenter filmed his 1978 indie chiller on a $325,000 budget. The film made roughly $47 million at the domestic box office, and still ranks among the most impressive budget-to-box office ratios in history. Zombie's studio-approved "Halloween" cost about $20 million.

The three-disc unrated collector's edition DVD of Rob Zombie's "Halloween" hit stores nationwide on October 7. According to Rob, "The set contains an all-new four-and-a-half-hour documentary about the making of the film!"

His version of the original Halloween wasn't bad... More gory and violent, but was good...

I can't wait for the sequel!

i loved the devils rejects...i think halloween was a step down, it seemed to drag a little and the original is a classic, why try to remake or reimagine it?

I wonder if Sherri Moon will be in Halloween 2 since she died in the first one....i remember him saying she would be in all of his movies

Why should we expect the sequel to be any better than that shit bomb of a load remake he did. I'd be more interested in his Tyrannosaurus Rex idea.

He could go on tour and play only the songs from the soundtrack of his films....oh wait a sec.....he already did that....

If I knew I was going to be forced to watch a 45 minute commercial for your films I would have stayed home. If you have given up on music, please don't tour anymore it hurts to watch and it's a waste of money.

How about a sequel to The Devils Rejects. Rob is feeling the pressure of the mainstream to do a sequel and he agreed to it. He should of said no.

I'm a huge fan of the halloween franchise..even the shitty ones, except for the one with busta rhymes...that was just video diarrhea and I don't know how i feel about that. His first one took all the class out of the original and focused on his white trash family tormenting him and all this garbage which takes the mystique out of michael myers. Not knowing why this kid is just pure evil from some normal whitebread family is alot scarier than some hoosier kid who's mom is a stripper that just goes on a rampage. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes and makes this one beter.

While the orginal was a classic it is dated and most kids today would consider it crap (if they were not told it is a classic and they must like it) (production and acting wise) I am 29 and don't buy into all this classic bullshit.

RZ "Halloween" actually created real characters.

I am not sure I like the idea of a sequal only because it gets away from the orginal idea of RZ that MM was human.

However I would not be surprised if RZ agree to do H2 in order to get the funding to a special pet project. Or it could be RZ came up with a great way to continue the story.

The original was WAY better than the remake. Leave the originals alone. Another good movie remake disaster

....why doesn't that fucker stay true to his word? He said he won't do a sequel and is not even interested to do one... well, I guess money talks and bullshit walks!

While the remake was interesting, I especially loved the new mask, I could have done without the white trash angle, it takes all the mystique out of Michael and just features the same set of characters all of Zombie's films feature! And not to talk about the plotholes you could drive a truck through! Anyway, I had hoped for a sequel without white trash bullshit!

Agree with monotypic and totally disagree with thesloth!

Just because Michael had a 'white trash' abusive upbringing, doesn't mean that is the sole reason he becomes a monster. I saw the abusive childhood as just 'another brick in the wall' so to speak.

LOL at the jagoff talking about 'Jason' a couple posts ago.

Because the first remake wasn't bad enough now they have to make a sequel. Destroying the name of a good movie that already had original sequels that weren't really good.

It's like The Terminator and Terminator 2...they ruin a great franchise by making a piece of crap like Terminator 3 and now theres a Terminator 4 coming out and Arnold isn't even in it...

Going back to remake for a second....Michael Myers grew up in a white trash abusive setting. I think an environment like that could fuck up any kid and make them some sort of psycho, not always but I think the chances are elevated if a young child is in that situation.

That whole idea ruined the great thing about the original Halloween. In the original Halloween, Michael Myers as a kid just snapped. He didn't seem to come from a fucked up family and that was the cool thing...he just snapped out of nowhere and the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with him and just deemed him as pure evil.

I know the sequels tried cooking up some stupid explainations but im just talking about the original Halloween alone.

The Devils Rejects is a sequel to House of 1000 Corpses..

I liked his take on the original version of Halloween, it strengthened the characters and was a good watch from beggining to end. Carpenter just made a low-budget indie flick, so I can see why it wasn't as well thought out as it should've been.

Looking forward to this release, but cut back on the redneck trash aspect that ran through your first three flicks, it was a good idea, but you're beating the hell out of it Rob

Rob Zombie is just a big hypocrite.... First he said he would never do a remake, and he did, then said he would never do a sequel to a remake and now he will...
