OZZY OSBOURNE With CAMP FREDDY: More Video Footage Available
- Dec. 29, 2008
|
|
More fan-filmed video footage of Ozzy Osbourne performing with the all-star cover band CAMP FREDDY on December 23, 2008 at the Roxy in West Hollywood, California can be viewed below (clips uploaded by "yohazy"). Ozzy Osbourne was among the guest musicians who joined CAMP FREDDY for the group's fourth and final show of the month-long Roxy residency. CAMP FREDDY features in its ranks Billy Morrison ( CIRCUS DIABLO, THE CULT), Dave Navarro ( JANE'S ADDICTION, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), Sorum, Donovan Leitch (son of singer Donovan), and Chris Chaney ( JANE'S ADDICTION). Commented Morrison: "The noise that the audience made when we brought the one and only Mr. Ozzy Osbourne out to the stage was deafening. And 'Crazy Train', 'Iron Man' and 'Paranoid' brought the house down. I don't care who you are — watching a true legend like Ozzy perform in a small club like that is a very special and very intense experience. Standing on the stage with him playing those iconic songs is beyond." "Crazy Train": "Iron Man":

I must say I am absolutely impressed with Ozzy's voice. His voice was totally gone at the Detroit Ozzfest show in 2007. And the fact that he is doing well WITHOUT a backing vocal, that is normally tracked with him in the recent years, gives me hope that he isnt totally a goner. Show how he isn't doing bad at age 60.

*Some how he isn't doing bad at age 60. But i'm not saying he is at the top of his vocal game but its the best i've heard it since 2003.

Ozzy's voice sounded great for a couple of reasons. It was indoor club and it was nice and warm. He only did 3 songs which didn't put much strain on his voice. He also hadn't sung in a while other than a small soundcheck or rehearsal. This old geezer can't do it like the old days.

First off, I don't think i've heard Ozzy sound and look this good in years. It seems he's off most of the meds...lol Now if he could get Jake E. Lee back in the band...all will be well...lol.
Seriously, I love Janes Addiction. But I never thought of Navarro as a shred type of guitar player. He actually sounds great on these clips.

ozzy sounds awesome. i'm a die hard ozzy fan, and for the last...well...decade, i've kinda been in DENIAL (yeah that's a reference). When he was bad I blamed it on something and when he was "not so bad" i always said he was getting back on track. this performance is actually GOOD. not crappy for some reason or almost good because he's on his way back up. this is actually good. i'm impressed. long live the ozzman.

I wished he'd tour with this band, screw Zakk, Dave N. just made him look like the hack he is.
I've seen Ozzy in 82, 86, 99, 00, 01, 04, 08

I'm guessing Sharon wasn't around nagging the shit out of him. To see & hear a legend in a small club like that must've been cool....the smallest venue I've seen Ozzy was the Palladium in NYC (RIP Randy) It was Blizzard & Motorhead!!! 2 shows, then Motorhead solo show at Irving Plaza next day? I think, wow....I'm getting old....t58v

though he skips a couple of the higher notes. Navarro is actually a pretty talented guitarist, and he pulls off the solo well. You have to be able to pull of a decent solo if you're playing Ozzy.

Typically LA tho, Ozzy tells them to go crazy and they just stand there like a bunch of zombies. O well, at least it doesn't look like they were on their cellphones telling their friends, instead of enjoying the "moment". OZZY IN A CLUB! EPIC!
