AEROSMITH Drummer: 'We Can't Wait To Get Back Into The Studio'
- Jan. 5, 2009
Drummer Joey Kramer of legendary Boston hard rockers AEROSMITH has issued the following update:
"Today is the first day Tom [Hamilton; bass] and I are getting back together. We just rehearsed for two hours and it feels so good! We can't wait to get back into the studio and get back out on the road to do what we do best. We'll check in from time to time and give you progress on how things are going."
AEROSMITH is currently working on material for its 15th studio album — the band's first new collection of original material since 2001's "Just Push Play". The group will play its first-ever show in Caracas, Venezuela on February 1 as part of the three-day Solid Fest. Also scheduled to appear are 50 CENT and SIMPLE PLAN, among others.
AEROSMITH guitarist Brad Whitford told LiveDaily on October 19, 2008 that the band will likely hit the road in the U.S. in the spring, although he wasn't sure whether they would have new music to play while they're out there. Speaking after his appearance at a Connecticut stop of the Experience Hendrix tour, Whitford said, "We've been offered to go out and do a tour next year starting in March, I guess. Providing the sky doesn't fall, that's what we'll be doing." As for whether a new album will be finished in time for the trek, Whitford admitted, "Typical AEROSMITH: everybody's off in their own little world and I'm not sure we're going to get it done before we go out, which is unfortunate, because it would be nice to have some new music to play."

Nine Lives tour was ther last great one and when that horrible Armaggedon song came out I knew it was over. Remember seeing them at Rock am Ring in 1997, which was great, and two years later they were so boring and tired I regretted every cent spent for the ticket. Used to love them, but they are as much of a kickass band today as metallica is. Fuckin dead. The old heroes start kicking the bucket, and there's nobody to fill the void.

How hard is it to write 2 or 3 "NEW" songs to play on tour...................... writing songs .......isn't that their job? ..... ?????? ........... hmmmmmm ..... writing songs should be second nature to these guys buy now. Shit - even Ringo wrote "NEW" songs at one point in The Beatles.

tin man you have no right to complain about Aerosmith when you like a no talent group like skinny puppy. and yea I checked them out and watched their video for a song called protest or some garbage. this techno breakdance shit is the influential music you always praise?the video was funny though 2 tough gangs break dancing at least that was original right?no wait michael jackson did it 25 years ago with a better song. you fail!

I got into Done with Mirrors. Actually, I got into Rock in a Hard Place as well.
Pump was all over the radio with that godawful Ragtime or whatever. Come to think of it I bought Permanent Vacation, (OK) and then Nine Lives which I couldn't give away.
I am not looking forward to another bullshit sell-out from Aerosmith

really come on,it's not that hard to write a handfull of news songs to play.i'll do it for them at least then they would sound somewhat 70's ish era!

they needed to take a stand years ago. After done with mirrors failed commercially, Geffen stepped in & said we drop you or you take on these BS crap Bon Jovi song writers, which they did. Tyler found a new fame & so the ball got rolling in that crap direction. honestly, Tyler's 60, love their 70's stuff, did like the 80's but its not holding up...I doubt at 60 they'd be writing all that great on their own either, but at least it would have more a rock edge. Jadded, that Armegedon song, doing the Superbowl with Brittany, all this crap just watered them down, instant gratification, but its hurting their legacy. THey were once one of the more rockin' bands ever....but all the other older bands have faded away & just tour greatest hits. THey are relevant, but its crap. Don't know which is worse.
