LAMB OF GOD: 'Wrath' Track Listing Revealed
- Jan. 5, 2009
|
|
Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD have finalized the track listing for their fifth album, "Wrath", due in North America via Epic on February 24. The CD will be issued in other territories through Roadrunner Records. "Wrath" was produced by Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire. "Wrath" track listing: 01. The Passing02. In Your Words03. Set To Fail04. Contractor05. Fake Messiah06. Grace07. Broken Hands08. Dead Seeds09. Everything To Nothing10. Choke Sermon11. ReclamationLAMB OF GOD finished the touring cycle for the Grammy-nominated album "Sacrament" at the end of 2007. The two-year trek was documented in the gold-certified DVD "Walk with Me in Hell" and culminated with the band headlining arenas across the U.S. in December 2007. The band took the entirety of 2008 off the road to focus on the writing process for "Wrath". "This album is going to surprise a lot of people," commented drummer Chris Adler. "Typically bands that get to where we are in our career begin to slack off, smell the roses and regurgitate. We chose a different path. No one wants to hear another band member hyping a new record. 'Wrath' needs no hype. We have topped ourselves and on February 24 you will feel it." The first leg of LAMB OF GOD's "Wrath" world tour will start in Finland on February 6 and will include dates in the U.K., Australia, and Japan. LAMB OF GOD vocalist Randy Blythe was interviewed by Synthesis.net on December 11, 2008 at Senator Theater in Chico, California. Watch the eight-minute chat below. Also available is a TuneWidget for "Wrath".

I really like what I'm hearing. I hope the final album don't sound as compressed and loud like on the stream, but this stuff sounds really great. I'm not yet really a fan of LoG but I don't mind me some LoG metal. Great!
3 samples sound great imo

You know what? LOG would do an AMAZING cover version of White Zombie's "Thunderkiss '65"
If you are a LOG guy, give it a try, the singer's got that "Zombie" voice but with a lot more bite and a little more versatility... And Thunderkiss 65 is one of WZ's best songs

I really only liked 3 songs off Sacrament. The rest just sounded like they wrote it on the bus in between piss stops and beer runs. As an overall they are " Still " GREAT !!!

I agree, ashes and palaces were flawless metal albums, they're like the quintessence of modern metal as you and I know it. I'm definitely going to buy a copy of this new one.

You heard it here. Albums sales will be lower, concert attendance will be the same as always depending on venue & who they are packaged with, but this bands brand of metal has peaked. Americans have short attention spans, need quick fixes, & no longer have the loyalty like they used to. They will sell the same 56,000 albums to the same guys week 1 & then on to the next fun thing. People piss & moan about how these guys have grown, Randy's vocals are maturing & expanding, but it is hog wash. These guys had the potential to be bigger, but at the end of the day they are no better than Trivium, Shadows Fall, etc. & will begin fading from people's collective metal memories soon.

what are you basing that comment off? with every album they have sold more, grown their audience, grown their fan base and grown their sound... why all of a sudden will that stop? because you heard one song from the album? they're one of the hottest acts in metal right now, at the peaks of their careers, this album will sell fast and comes at a perfect time for them, I dont see how this album will have lower sales? i think you're very wrong.

I agree man. Lamb of God is in their fucking prime right now. It's a shame people didn't take notice to them when Ashes of the Wake and As the Palaces Burn were coming out though. I have a feeling that Wrath will bring back that ferocious fire that lit up New American Gospel. You can see it when you watch the DVDs and listen to the past albums.. these guys aren't in it to just get stuck in a rut. They're in it to progress in all the right ways.

Comparing Trivium to LoG is a joke.
LoG have credibility and integrity.
Trivium have....umm... a couple decent tunes - and a reputation as posers.
This album should definitely be better than Sacrament. The samples sound like a return to the Palaces sound.

Had the best production thus far of any LOG record. That was the peak of their song writing ability, but the current time is the peak of their popularity. You can't get much higher than being direct support for Metallica.
