EDDIE VAN HALEN Talks EVH Wolfgang Guitar; Video Available

Eddie Van Halen was interviewed by USA Today about the all-new EVH Wolfgang electric guitar, which is being made available worldwide this month. The EVH Wolfgang guitar represents Eddie's 35 years of experimenting with guitars, over two years of intense research and development, and a full year of brutal road testing during the top-grossing VAN HALEN 2007-2008 tour. This looks just about the same as a Peavey Wolfgang. Other than the stainless steel frets, I don't see a difference. Sorry, but this total, absolute BS. I am not going to buy into the PR hype. Like what one the previous guys said, if I want something like this, give me a Ernie Ball VH sig, and call it a day. Personally, I'm going to stick with the classics.

Gary Moore just released a killer album that shreds. He just gets better and better and he is older than Eddie. What has Eddie done? His volume of work is so small compared to his talent. GM experiments, gigs, guests, tours. He is what a guitar player should be doing. Eddie could do that, plus offer clinics. Man, he is wasting his time. That damn guitar is the wrong path. He has his own studio and all the time in the world. Can't he so some solo stuff? Schenker did that album with short 2 minute riffs. Eddie could do that. Eddie could be creating and writing the best riffs ever but he chooses to produce guitars and amps and sell those. I just don't get why he is wasting his talent.

Ed won't release solo stuff, HE"s the one holding up any new VH releases, with either his petty fighting with singers, or his addictions. Hopefully he's clean now, but he was a mess, probably creating just his worst uninspired "noodling" in the studio...Love the DLR era VH far great than Sammy era, but to be honest, Sammy would bring more to the table now, Roth, like VH said in '96, hasn't got it at all anymore.

EVH=DOG. he's done everything a miserable man could do in the last 10 years, to Sammy, My Cherone, to Mike Anthony, DLR in 96(not that I'm saying DLR is a pleasure to be around)....meth, drinking, rotting himself, getting caught up with Porn guys, on stage blitzed with his son, & finally trying to bring a plane down by smashing a wine bottle against the window, great story of a washed out human, who was scraping the bottom. Too many years of yes men telling him he's a guitar god. Watch an interview or 2 on Youtube, he's miserable every time. Maybe his soberity will help.

Yeah he can charge what he wants but at least the EB and the Peavy were within the average persons reach which was something I liked because you didn't have to go into debt to pick one up... Even the E-Bay market for them are cheaper then this new itteration, for the most part... I think I'll keep making my own copies of them. At least I'll have the joy of screwing myself with the cost of parts instead of the cost of meth ;-)

Let's see here over the last few years you could get the Charvel EVH art guitar for 3 grand, you could get the 20,000 dollar "Frankenstein" replica which is a mantle piece at best, and now you can get the EVH Wolfgang II by Fender...and a nice Chinese made 5150 III Head for 3 grand.
Watch Eddie's demo video with the buttkiss squad and anyone who knows anything about guitar will cringe at the things Eddie says to describe the guitar such as calling a volume pot a "Wheel bearing" and describing how the wood is "breathing"....yet, it's painted and covered with clear coat....yeah wood probably isn't quite doing that under all that Ed. BUT some poor kid is gonna save his money up and burn it on this equipment.
All I have to say is, DO YOUR RESEARCH ON YOUR GEAR before you get it. A name does not equate to good equipment.

I think we now have our answer as to why VH hasn't made any new music. Did you see how bad Eddie looked and sounded in that video? Jesus. I'm gonna have to put him on my dead pool list for 09.

Sammy would have made Van Halen big if he and Michael weren't forced out of the band by this nimrod.
